Crocker Elementary contest winners will spend Wednesday with city mayor
CROCKER, Mo. (May 10, 2010) — Two Crocker Elementary School students, second-grader Madison Gan and sixth-grader Shelbe Walsh, will eat lunch with Crocker Mayor Linda Wilson and tour various city buildings after winning a picture and essay contest sponsored by the Crocker Chamber of Commerce. The picture contest was for students from kindergarten to second grade; Gan drew a colored picture of Frisco Park. Older students in grades 3 to 6 had the opportunity to enter an essay contest and Walsh’s one-page essay was on why the Crocker softball field is her favorite location in the city. Both entries were selected as best in their respective categories by judges from the local chamber who reviewed dozens of submissions. Click here to read more on Pulaski County Daily News ...

Swedeborg voters rejected a tax proposal just a few weeks ago that would have substantially increased the revenues of the district and also qualified the district for thousands of dollars in additional state aid.
