I heard it too.  But like you not all the details.  Lucky no one else was injured.  Heard it was a non-injury accident.  Nothing better to do on Christmas Day but run from the police.

I would be glad to see Texas Road and Misty Mountain gravel again.  Lot cheaper to wash a car than to replace tires.

National News / Re: 2 charged in death of Ala girl forced to run

They should be mad to run longer than three hours.  Run til their death as they did to the child.  You are right, parenting is harder these days but a little common sense goes a long way.  I can't understand either one of them doing it but a grandmother?  In the pictures I saw the grandmother looks mad...the stepmom confused.  Did they have no idea this would happen?  Just makes no sense to me.

Local News / Re: INJURIES IN TEXAS ROAD WRECK
« on: September 16, 2011, 01:15:42 PM »
Today there was a deer standing in the road (Texas) at about 7:15.  I saw it as soon as I rounded the curve.  I stopped and waited I knew a second one was there.  If I had been going faster the car would have been in worse shape than it is from taking the bumps.  I don't believe the way people drive over the bumps and holes.  I am surprised there haven't been more wrecks on that road.
I knew Cowboy used to drive the bus up here.  My granddaughter liked him last year when she was riding the bus from our house.  Didn't know if it had changed this year or not.  He had a hard time at the beginning of the year with one little girl.  I saw her mom putting her on kicking and hitting.  I am sure that is normal at the first of each year.  He even had a dog trying to get on the bus one AM.  LOL  I couldn't do your all's job!~

Glad to hear she is ok.
I just came from Z hyway to Texas Rd.  I would hate to be a bus driver on either side of Texas Rd.  I don't know who comes up on the mountain but he is a good driver.  He tries hard to keep from bouncing the poor kids around.

We have lived off of Texas Rd. for about six years.  I think each year it has gotten worse.  The side of the road is dangerous even going less than the speed limit.  The road narrows in some spots.  I wouldn't want to drive it in the winter.  We slid off one day last year getting over for a car last year.  Nothing major but it could have been.  I am one of them they cuss because I go the speed limit or less...and even stop at the stop sign at Texas and Thunder.  LOL  I wish some of the good commissioners would come back.

Although they are not on the menu they have fried pickles that are great.  We have had them while traveling and in Rolla.  I assume they will have them here.  They are the sandwich sliced pickle fried.  Delicious!  We always get the steak and haven't had a bad one yet.

Thanks.

Isn't it nice to hear positive about a young person for a change?  We hear a lot of negative but not a lot of positive comes out.  The sad fact is there is probably more positive than negative...we just hear more negative.
Good luck Gijon!
