Local News / What Daily Guide wrote on Facebook.
« on: April 23, 2010, 04:59:31 PM »
I've been fielding a lot of questions as of late regarding our operations here at The Daily Guide. The questions, no matter what form they come in, all have the same basic theme— how much longer will we be here?

It's an understandable concern. Around the nation, newspapers are shrinking staffs and shutting their doors. And if it's happening at large publications, what's keeping the local dailies, like us, from being next?

There are a lot of answers for that question, but the simplest, best and most honest answer is that you can rest assured we're not going anywhere. In fact, we're growing!...

In the coming months you can look for a few new faces joining our team. As we continue the search for our current reporter position, we will be looking to hire yet another person, essentially doubling our newsroom staff.

Newspapers that are doing poorly don't hire people, folks. Just the opposite. So take it for what it is— a sign of the good things we've been doing and will continue to do.

While I am excited to deliver you this news, it is a bittersweet time for me.

I will be leaving The Daily Guide team to become the new editor at the Rolla Daily News. It was a difficult decision to make, and one that was not done hastily.

I am proud of the accomplishments The Daily Guide and its team have made during the past 17 months, and I look forward to watching the paper continue to grow and succeed.

I owe a grate deal of thanks to those who have supported us over a time of unprecedented change, especially our staff. We've been through a redesign, we've upgraded our Web site and just recently added Facebook as another means of keeping in touch with our readers and advertisers.

I have no reason to doubt that the wonderful progress we've made will continue under new leadership. Again, we wouldn't be making the investment in today's times of growing staff if we weren't on a growth plan, much like we did when we invested thousands into equipment upgrades within the past two years.

In a time of seeming uncertainty, I would encourage you not to listen to the rumors that say we're leaving the community. No one does what we do— no one. And that means we'll be around for a long time. There will always be a need for valuable local information from a trusted source— your Daily Guide.

It burns like marijuana, works like marijuana and it sort of looks like it, too.

And it's perfectly legal.
Because the active ingredients are just a few atoms away from the real thing, the synthetic stuff isn't covered by laws banning marijuana.  This means K2 and similar products are legal - even though the effects are identical to pot.

You are receiving this invite on behalf of myself and Tony Laszacs. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL RALLY. This is to announce that he is running for U.S. Senate for the state of Missouri. For those of you who do not know Tony is a retired First Sergeant who resides the Waynesville/St. Robert area. Tony has a lot of great Ideas and as a former Soldier and Iraqi Freedom Veteran knows how to fight the fight. Please come out and join us for this announcement and feel free to ask whatever questions you may have. We are not asking for your vote all we are asking for is a chance to establish a political party based on the people, for the people of this great state. Feel free to invite other friends, coworkers and other family members to this announcement. Should you have any questions you can feel free to ask Tony anything on your mind. You might be surprised at the ideas he has. I have included a short paragraph below to let you know just a little about the Moderate Conservative Party Tony Laszacs has established and we have already heard from his opponents who are loaded with money and are in fear of what this party is trying to establish. Tony is not going to hide behind a particular party line....Tony Laszacs is going to Bridge the Gap between the parties and do the right thing for YOU and ME. The Official Webiste is   Tony Laszacs is Bridging the Gap for the People of Missouri. Tony is the Moderate Conservative Party of Missouri’s Candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010, running to represent the citizens’ of Missouri. His pledge to unite Missouri by dedicating legislative decision making to the unity of the majority voice has catapulted the party to fast growing acknowledgement throughout the state.  His dynamic promise to be committed to the common threads that currently join the moderate Democrats and conservative Republicans of old has proven to depict a new understanding of the importance of old beliefs in the hearts of many Missourians.  The Moderate Conservative Party of Missouri builds a sound platform that directs their members to represent constituents by fighting for the majority voice and foundational representation. Tony’s moralistic approach to leadership has inspired many Missourians to believe in the value of their vote once again.
