  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

MIAMI (AP)—Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth(notes) began serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk in Florida, a punishment made possible by his cooperation with investigators and the fervent wish by the victim’s family to put the matter behind them.
Stallworth, 28, also reached a confidential financial settlement with the family of 59-year-old Mario Reyes, a construction worker struck and killed early on March 14 by Stallworth, driving drunk in his black 2005 Bentley.
Stallworth had faced 15 years in prison for his DUI manslaughter conviction. After his release from jail, he must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation. The house arrest provisions will allow him to resume his football career, his attorney said.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is reviewing the matter for possible disciplinary action. Stallworth could face suspension without pay for some games this year.
Leonard Little(notes) of the Rams pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter after he hit and killed a woman while driving drunk in 1998 and served an eight-game suspension, though the punishment was doled out when the league was a bit more lenient.

Only in their own eye's. They are held on pedestals by their fans and the owners. Yes they are owned. A contract is ownership papers. Most have ton's of clauses like if the player is unable to complete the season they will still get payed so the owner uses every lawyer they can find to keep them playing. Money drives the train. We need to get back to playing sports for the game and not the paycheck.

I agree 48fan but for some reason the punishment for us fans are more severe (maybe due to the fact of not being able to afford the expensive lawyers) than famous sports figures. I could not see Lebron James or Kobe Bryant (he got away with something I think) suffering like you or I would  for something. I guess that a car is not considered a weapon in most cases. Just my opinion.

You are on point with all your observations. We are the working class and we will allways pay the biggest burden in our society. I believe it is preordained or something similar. To get away with murder you have to be a celebrity, Pro athlete, or have a ton of money for some lawyers. Otherwise its off to prison with ya..
