  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

so I take it that is all illumination, and no flames showing? hard to tell.
I have it on good authority that the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about.

That's what I was wondering?  I'm assuming the  glowing spots on the building are outside lights?

Before any rumors start. I was on scene with fire personnel from the beginning and the building was not on fire. A whole lot of smoke to be sure. Fire was limited to a trailer loaded with trash to be hauled to Hartville in the morning. Cause yet to be determined. I will let Darrell provide the Paul Harvey version.

Great work and thanks to the SRFD, WRFD, LFD, Tri-County and Ft. Leonard Wood fire department personnel. Additional thanks to St. Robert Electric and Street Dept personnel and Doug Adkins and the Transfer Station folks.

St. Robert transfer station fire extinguished after two-alarm response

St. Robert firefighters use a ladder truck to hose down the transfer station roof.
St. Robert transfer station fire extinguished after two-alarm response
SAINT ROBERT, Mo. (Dec. 29, 2010) A two-alarm blaze Wednesday night at the St. Robert trash transfer station injured nobody, but brought dozens of firefighters from six departments to the city to extinguish the fire. Ladder trucks from St. Robert, Fort Leonard Wood and the Lebanon City Fire Department were all used in the blaze. The two city departments poured water onto the metal roof of the station; the Lebanon ladder truck was used later in the night to pour water onto a trash trailer where the fire began after it was pulled out of the building. Waynesville and Crocker firefighters as well as Tri-County firefighters from Richland also assisted at the blaze. The blaze was reported at 6:45 p.m.; the first firefighters arrived at 6:50 p.m. and reported heavy smoke showing from the building on JH Williamson Drive, which runs from Old Route 66 behind the St. Robert Community Center to the trash transfer station.
