Yes I heard it was a 7 year old girl taken by a man driving a newer silver truck. The license plates reads 72b381 and it is a missouri tag. This was a forward on my phone.

I believe it's a hoax. See article below from Huntington, WV, newspaper:

Alert about abducted child called a hoax
February 10, 2009 @ 05:38 PM
Herald-Dispatch.com
HUNTINGTON — Cabell County 911 Dispatch was bombarded with calls Tuesday after a text message was sent to area cell phones informing people about an Amber Alert in Huntington.
Cabell County dispatchers said they did not issue an Amber Alert and the text was a hoax.
The text message, which circulated to cell phones throughout Tuesday, read “A 7 year old girl from St. Mary’s was taken by a man driving a newer silver van (with license number) 72B381! Please keep this going.”
The text was somewhat similar to an Amber Alert in Satsuma, Fla. According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Web site, 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings of Satsuma was reported missing Tuesday. Cummings is a white female, 3 feet tall, weighs 39 pounds and has blond hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and underwear.
The dispatch spokesman said dispatchers checked with St. Mary’s Medical Center and it had not reported anyone missing. The West Virginia State Police have not identified an Amber Alert on their Web site.
Area residents who receive the alert are encouraged to disregard it, dispatch said.

That is just sick, why would someone think that is even remotely funny?  I will never understand people doing crap like this.

glad to find this not true as there were many vehicles with lights and sirens going up and down the road that evening
