County Government Opinion / Re: how to file in civil court
« on: April 01, 2008, 08:22:56 PM »
Well, her father came in from out of state on Mar.22nd and they both told our family that she and the baby were going to go back with him for a 2 week visit. My son said absolutely not, because he was afraid she wouldn't come back. She finally dropped it to a week, but he still wouldn't agree to it. Long story short, she took the baby and left with her father on Easter Sunday. She kept calling and saying she would be back in a week, but when the week was over she finally admitted that she wasn't coming back. My son is devastated, but has an appointment with an attorney.
I can't believe how some people are. He has taken care of her and the baby since day one. Rented 2 different places for her, she let him move everything into the first one then wouldn't move in, (she "changed my mind, I don't like the country") he lost his deposits etc. on that. The second one she lived in a month then walked out in the middle of the night with nothing but a suitcase, leaving him to put all the furniture etc. in storage again. (because he wouldn't talk to her.) He was working 16 hour days to support her lazy butt, then came home and did laundry and prepared his own dinner. he was probably too tired to talk. I think he should skip the visitation and go straight for custody. She is not responsible enough to raise a child. In fact I would suggest she have supervised visitation so she couldn't run with the baby again. Her dad seemed nice enough.(first time we had met him) but he must be as nutty as his daughter.

There has never been court ordered support or visitation, but he still pays, just doesn't get to see his daughter much, if at all. Thanks for all the support and advice. I'll show him your posts, maybe he'll go through the court system if he hears it from someone besides me. Thanks again.

How does one file for visitation? My son has a 2 mo. old daughter, and has supported the girlfriend since day one.( she quit work when she was 6 weeks pregnant and hasn't worked since) and he has supported the baby since her birth. But, girlfriend left him when she was 8 mos pregnant and moved in with friends, now she pulls the strings about when he gets to see the baby. She will even go so far as to tell him that he can pick her up on Saturday from 11AM to 3PM, and then, when he get there she tells him she's changed her mind and slams the door in his face. He continues to give her almost every dime he makes because he won't let his daughter go without, and he knows he'll never see her if he cuts off the funds.
Is there a way to file for visitation or joint custody without an attorney? I can get one if absolutely necessary, but would rather spend the money on the baby.

When are the city council members and the mayor up for re-election?  I know I will be there to cast my vote.
When one gets too big for their britches, we must toss them out on their a$$.

Agreed Coyote. Irish, I would think that the city would be aware of all the properties they own, why should I tell you? For years I begged the city to take care of them, but no one gave a flying rats a$$ back then. But now that I have spent 12 years of time and money for maintence of this lot, the city is all wired up and wanting to know where it is.  Maybe I'll just claim squatters rights!!!LOL
No Irish, like I said, I have no intention of telling you where it is. The city had it's chance to do the right thing and clean up it's property, They blew it!!
We'll see if you can find it when mowing season rolls around. It'll be the one with a$$ deep grass and weeds, and the large sign that reads "this property belongs to the city of Waynesville"

Well Luge, the 2 properties in question are right smack in the middle of the city. I have been maintaining one of them for 12 years myself because the city WOULDN'T do it. I called every week for several months, then it became apparent that they had no intention of mowing or weed eating this property, so I started doing it myself so I didn't have to deal with the mice, snakes and such.
I'm not going to say where they are right now. I'm going to wait for spring and if the city doesn't start maintaining them, (BECAUSE I QUIT) then I will publish the whereabouts of the properties along with photo's, to show that the city doesn't abide by it's own ordinances.

The city of Waynesville can't even take care of it's own properties. There are several city owned lots and fields that have NEVER been mowed or maintained by the city.
You people have some nerve. Clean up your own filthy rat infested, giant mosquito breeding, a$$ deep to a giraffe weed growing, stinking mud pit, before you go dictating to others.

There are certain restrictions, no tires, paint cans etc. and all items  must be light enough to be lifted by two men. One year they refused to pick up a yard swing frame because it was too heavy, so my 74 year old mother had to carry it BACK to the garage. LOL
But when she called them they did come back and pick it up.

Yes, I know the place you are talking about, looks like a goat exploded. It's looked like that for quite some time. They must know someone.

I don't understand how  the city can enforce an ordinance that they don't comply with themselves. I live next to a city lot that has not been mowed by the city for the past 12 years. Since the mosquito's, snakes and field mice were migrating from the city lot and taking over my property, I started mowing and weedeating it every time I mowed my yard. I called the city every week during the first couple of years and was always told "you're on the list". but they never showed up to mow it.
I continue to pay someone to mow that city lot to this day. Every week, May thru Sept, for 20.00 every week.
I figure the city owes me over $5000.00 for maintaining  city property when  they refused to comply with their own (that might happen)
Maybe the city needs to start taking care of their own property before they start hassling everyone else.
