Title: El Jimador
Post by: littlebit on March 08, 2007, 11:55:50 PM
Very nice atmosphere. The food is really tasty, but steer clear of rush hour it can get packed.

Please follow the link to the restaurant menu http://www.pulaskicountyweb.com/menu/elhimador.htm (http://www.pulaskicountyweb.com/menu/elhimador.htm).

It is worth the wait.. The prices are great.

The food is wonderful.

The service is good.

The speed of service is awesome! We have NEVER waited over 15 min. for our food there.

I like the place for all the same reasons, but I'd LOVE to go in there with an INS jacket and hat on one day.

You are out of date the new term is ICE, Immigration Customs Enforcement, but they will still run on INS.

Dated myself did I?  ;)

I'd still like to go in there with about six guys in 'ICE' outerwear and see how long it took to get food -

Would either be 5-minutes or not at all, 'cause the kitchen emptied of workers  ;)

Yummy Yummy food and only one fellow was a bit slow.  I like it and especially the pollo bandito.

Bad experience?  Sorry.  I guess I have always been lucky.   Now for me Mi Suk's is the unlucky one.  It tastes great, just never sits quite right.  Other folk it never bothers.  I dunno why, must be and alergic gene er something.

Enjoy the good ones avoid your unlucky ones.

Best to ya

This is one of mine and my hubby's favorite. The food was always great and we love eating there. Weird though our kids don't like it that much, they said they didn't feel right after eating there and a friend of mine said her hubby got sick from it, too. Sometimes I really don't know what to think, I used to not feel all right after eating Greek in Germany until I figured out it wasn't really the food, I just couldn't handle some of their seasonings (even though I loved them). But reading of so many people getting sick does make you wonder...

I ate there last July and ordered the #1 lunch special.  I don't even want to tell you how sick I was because I'd have to move it to the "Over 18" discussion thread.  I got sicker than I got after contracting food poisoning in Honduras.  It only takes once for me.  I won't be going back.

It is awesome.  They know us so well now they bring us our drinks without us even ordering them.  Of course, we have ordered the same thing since they opened.  They pretty well know what we want...my husband has a special order and most of them know what that is now too.
My daugter says it is bad that we eat there so much they know our order...I think it is great!

Prices are good.  My husband and I can share a steak fajita and still have some  left over.  I like the taco del carne asada.  It is the steak fajita meat w/o veggies in three soft shells.  It come with beans and tomatillo sauce...ummmm...

Hubby and I have carry-out night every Thursday. Yesterday he decided he wanted enchiladas from El Jimador. I called in my order around 2:00 PM  and said I would pick it up at a little past 4:30 PM.

When I got there...no order and the waitress kept asking me if I'd called ahead. Apparently NO ONE took the order down when I called so she asked if I wanted to place an order then.

I politely said NO and walked out. After a long busy day at work and the disappointment of not having the meal ready when I got there I just did not feel like waiting so I ended up getting something from Kentucky Fried Buzzard.

Probably a glitch in an otherwise flawless call-in system so I will give El Jimador one more chance and if it's messed up again they'll get crossed off my "list".

Why would you call it in at 2pm? That would confuse any restaurant. Just call when you are on your way. Thats what I do. Takes about 10-15 mins even if they are busy.

I was also disappointed the last time Rick called in an order from El Jimador. They forgot two of our orders of chips but did include the cheese sauce and salsa. I know they get really busy but maybe they should implement double checking of the orders. The way they bag it up and hand it to you, it is hard to check it while standing in the check out line. I also use to love the steak fajitas but lately it taste like they have over seasoned and over cooked it. Not lovin it so much anymore.  :P

I had lunch there yesterday, and was a little disappointed in the taste of my food, but my husband said his was fine. It turned out that I was developing a sinus infection, so it wasn't them, it was me.

anyone who has even been in my office knows how hectic it can be...if I don't call in an order early it may never get done...

Last night I had a "fajita salad" and was very disappointed with it and will never order that thing again.  It was a big pile of very thinly shredded lettuce (like what goes on a taco) some shredded chicken some shredded cheese and a dollap of sour cream.  It wasn't very good.  My husband had some burritos and they looked good.  He said they were ok.  We did order bean dip to have with the chips and that was my favorite part of the meal.  The food doesn't seem as good as when they first opened.

I get the Popeyes (it's grilled chicken, spinach and mushrooms with cheese on it, comes with rice and beans) - OMG - I want some. It's a jalisco at El Maguey in Rolla and they put grilled onions on it too. I also get the white cheese with the chips.

I have to give El Jimador's a big pat on the back.  I was at a party there Tuesday night and there were about 40 people.  The server didn't get one order wrong!!  It was amazing to watch those guys carry 5-6 plates on their arms and get them to the right person and keep the drinks coming.  Wonderful!  However, my one complaint would be that we couldn't all sit together.  There has to be a better way to organize parties, or have a party room set aside away from the rest of the diners.  Other than that??  Super!
