  • All I know is that our Post Office has been made aware of it as has the local PD and other than the PD "taking" a report (cough cough) NOTHING has been done.  We aren't the only ones.  The last incident numerous boxes in town I might add as well as street signs were knocked over, taken or destroyed.

  • Ive worked 21 yrs with postal service and was never told to have them report it to local law enforcement.  I have talked to people who have gone to local law enforcement and have been told nothing local law eforcement can do about it

  • Postal employees are told to tell people that mailbox bashing is a matter for the local law enforcement. Even if you think some one has tampered with your mail in your box, the form you fill out to send to the postal inspectors has to have a police report # on it.

  • my experience in pulaski county, when some hits a mailbox they are told to contact the postmaster by the police dept, the postmaster say call the police.  I know several times when they caught the kids and let them go with a warning

  • when you fill a mailbox with cement or make it where it could hurt someone doing damage to the box, they look at it as the intent was to do bodily harm

  • Stevem174...  oh yeah... Brian knows ALL about it.  Last time it happened and Mike actually saw it, we went to the PD and he came to the house.  WHILE he was standing there at our house you could hear the sounds of MORE bashing going on (NO JOKING) he scurried over there and found some teens located near the newest damage and asked them if they did it or knew who did it and of course they said NO...  he believed them...  I'm not joking either...

  • Carpenter did you report the mailbox damage to the post master?  It's been my expereince that the postal inspectors have NO sense of humor about damage. https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/raddocs/tipvandl.htm
