Pulaski Enquirer / Mid Mo Motors
« on: March 25, 2015, 05:36:40 PM »
Last night I drove through Mid Mo Motors parking lot looking at used cars.  This morning when I drove by there wasn't a car or truck in the lot.  Not one!!!  What's up with that?

The reason the office portion of the old fire station was torn down is because it was not structurally safe and did not have good air quality.  Living and working conditions for our firefighters was hazardous.

It's been closed for a couple years.

I have been saying for months that Obama will be our next president.  I believe all the turmoil in the world is part of his plan to have the US in such a sad state of affairs, possible martial law, so that when it comes time to elect a new president it will be found that it would be better to keep Obama in office until things straighten out, and they never will.  Same reason Roosevelt was elected for a fourth term.  I don't care which party is in power, but I would like to see a party in power who has America's best interest at heart and not their own personal gain.

The IS is a threat to the whole world.  They don't want to get along, they want to kill everybody who does not believe as they do.  Nothing political about it, it is a religious thing.  That is why so many people don't like "religion."  People do stupid things in the name of religion.  I'm glad I am a Christian, but I am not "religious."  Shady, I hope your health is OK.  Sometimes we get those "eye opening" reports.  Mine was cancer 12 years ago.  Be well!!!

Shady, America didn't even exist 1000 years ago.

Defend faith and Jesus all you want.  Just don't call people names while doing it.  No matter what you think, it's not Christ like.  Remember when Jesus said "but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also."  Jesus did not tell us to argue with people about who He is.  He asks us to believe in Him.  As long as you let people know you believe in Jesus, you don't have to fight His battles for Him.  Jesus doesn't need you to "defend" Him.  He just says don't deny Him.

Fish, please don't call yourself a Christian.  I would not want anyone to put me in the same class as you.  Call yourself religious, for it is religious people who call others names, not people who are "Christ like."  I don't care how you feel about the child's father, it is repugnant to call the child a name.  Jesus, would never call a child a name.  Remember he's the one who said "suffer the little children to come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

National Political Opinion / Re: Capitalism VS Socialism
« on: February 21, 2014, 03:16:35 AM »
I'm not an expert, but from what I have seen in history books and from my observances in the last 66 years, it seems that Socialism gets rid of every class but middle class except for the people who are running the government.  There is no need to get an education or strive for a better position in life because everybody gets the same thing.  I would rather have the option to start at the bottom and WORK my way up, than to just be given what the government thinks I need.  I want to be able to buy my own health insurance and see whatever doctor I want and go to the doctor anytime I want.  I don't want the government to decide I don't need a doctor.  I want to be able to tell my grandchildren to do well in school, study hard, play sports, work for a scholarship so you can attend college, not have the government tell them they can't go to college.  As I said, I'm not an expert, I've just seen how it appears to have not worked in other countries.

I don't believe they are open yet.  I think it is called Ocean's Grill.  They have restaurants in other parts of the US.  You can google them.

ebilly, I am 66 years old, an old fogy, and I am still working 40 hours a week.  I don't expect generation x, y or z to support me, I just want to be able to keep what I work for and not have to support generations x, y or z.

The article about Ryans filing bankruptcy was dated 2012.  This store was not part of that bankruptcy.  I believe they are closing due to a landlord problem.

I don't think anyone would miss Aussie Jacks except for the people who work there.  I heard today that the person who owns the land that Ryans sits on, did  not want to renew their lease.  Doesn't make sense to me.  They aren't going to get any money with nothing there.
And I also heard there was something to do with a divorce in the Miller's Grill closing.
I haven't heard anything about Pepper's.

Local News / Ryan's Closing
« on: November 14, 2013, 03:46:29 AM »
I didn't see it, by my daughter said she saw in the Daily Guide that Ryan's is closing.  Thirty five people out of work.  That along with Miller's Grill and Pepper's closing is not good news for this community.  I can understand why Ryan's closed, their food has not been good in quite a while and there was hardly ever cars in the parking lot, but Miller's and Pepper's were busy all the time.  This is before cuts on post.  What will happen when the cuts start.

LOL  How anybody can still support Obama after the mess he has us in, I will never know.  He's had 6 years to get us out of the "mess Bush left" and he has done NOTHING!!!!  Well, nothing that has helped us, the everyday working American anyway.   Worst president ever, even worse than Jimmy Carter.

There is a man that lives in Waynesville who ran the trailer court for Wayne and then for Norman.  I'll send you a PM with  his name.  He could give you a lot of information on the property.

I would rather have the four legged wild ones than the two legged ones.  I believe they are smarter.

A friend of mine had jewelry stolen from her house while she was away from it, due to rising water in the little creek next to her house.  What kind of person takes advantage of a situation like that to steal some inexpensive jewelry.   Fortunately, they were stupid enough to try to sell it to a local jeweler and got caught.  I hope Mr. Hillman throws the book at the people who did this.

I moved into the trailer court in 1970.  At the time, it was owned by Wayne and Gladys Miller.  Wayne ran off to Costa Rica with the woman I bought my trailer from and they never returned to do business in the area.  The store was there when I lived there along with a car wash and gas station.  I worked for Norman Fields in the convenience store for a year or so.  I can tell you that in the early 70's it was a great place to live.  A very large and well maintained trailer court.  After Norman Fields became involved it seemed to go down hill.  I think he tried to do to much.  He built a bunch of apartments in the back of the trailer court, then built the hotel.  Greed can cause a lot of problems.  I think it would be an excellent place for a business or businesses.  If I were you, I would be more worried about the stability of Fort Leonard Wood, than the history of that property.   Are you talking Village Inn the restaurant?  They had a restaurant similar to that here that went out of business.  Might want to check that out too.
