« on: August 03, 2012, 03:36:36 AM »
Why is it so hard for any of the candidates to say who their chief deputy will be or even a few who they might be interested in asking??? I know they all have someone in mind this far in to the race.... The sheriff is not really a "police officer" who's on the road writing tickets and arresting people, he will be more so a CEO of a company, you have budgets and payroll and grants and lots of number crunching... whereas your chief deputy is more of the operations guy a link between the road and the boss.  I believe the #2 position SHOULD be known... It shows what kind of administration you'll be running...

Just my .02 cents ;-)

How terribly sad...

Also, if it's a ticket that was issued an you are basing the court date on the date that was written on the ticket, it could have just not gotten to the prosecutors office yet.

If it's paternity it won't be on there, those cases are confidential.

holidays make the crazy come out in people....

Praying for the family and for the trooper. Part of the job or not, warranted or not, it can't be easy to have to make that decision and then act on it.

I was with them all day yesterday and no it's not easy. God bless them, it's not easy being a cops wife...

I have to say they came and cleaned my carpet this afternoon and did an AMAZING job... I wish I had taken before and after pictures. With lots of kids in and out of this house forgetting to remove shoes, spilling stuff etc. they were looking REALLY bad. I didn't think it would help much, but the carpet cleaning guy did an amazing job... wow

Highly recommend them!!

Well it was nice posting here on the PLW, but some people saw it to "out me" if you can call it that (seeing as how most people knew who I was anyways, and I really wasn't hiding from anyone), but because of this thread someone that lurks here saw it fit to run around and tell who I was for reasons unknown, so goodbye all. See ya in the funny pages.

I dont get the point of this post?

My daughter helped build 7 houses in Joplin yesterday.  The Rolla website had a event detail that said Ty would be at the Nutter Field House on Monday the 24th at 5:00 p.m.  Disappointing for me.  Also heard that only students were allowed in first and Soldiers and Vets got turned away from an event taped in honor of Veteran's day.

Nobody was turned away there was still empty seats...... I have a hard time believing that as I got there at 540 and they were still telling people to call on their cell phones to get people there.

Cops, most people don't like them ..till you need one

I like them, even when I don't need them. ;-) I was really gonna try and keep it zipped but those who know me... well know better. :-) haha

I appreciate the job they do as I see it every day of my life. I see anxiety and fear waiting on blood results after being spit on by people with hepatitis and other communicable diseases.  I see hurt and heartache when a decision has to be made to remove a child from a bad home.  I see the birthday parties missed, and holidays with a missing love one at the table.  I see children's faces disappointed because daddy couldn't make the soccer game, dance recital or family movie night because some body decided they were gonna break the law and the job doesn't end just because the clock says the shift is over.  It's a profession of honor and integrity, one they chose to have out of love of helping others.

When I see the badge I see sacrifice of ones own self for the worth and value of others.

They work very hard and I wish people could see what I see on a daily basis, perhaps, maybe people would reconsider the inconvenience of an occasional traffic stop.

I had to go to the bus station today and they were sitting there.  They were not hiding though, they were in plain site.  Just beware that they are out there.  Must have found a gold mine there.

The police officers don't benefit from giving tickets..... just obey the law and you have nothing to worry about. :-) I'm speaking to myself too..... I'm terrible at noticing speed changes... I swear my vehicle only goes one speed... stop and "go" hah
