National Political Opinion / Department of Energy
« on: June 17, 2009, 03:39:35 PM »
I received this email today, Kind sums it all up.

Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the
establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ..... during the Carter
Administration?

Anybody?

Anything?

No?

Didn't think so !

Bottom line .. we've spent several hundred billion  dollars in support of an agency ... the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.

Ready?

It was very simple.... and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate...

The 'Department of Energy' was instituted on 8- 04-1977 TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

Hey, pretty efficient, huh?

AND NOW IT'S 2009,

ALMOST 32 YEARS LATER  ... AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS NECESSARY DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES

AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!

THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY

‘WHAT WAS I THINKING?'

ah, yes, good ole bureaucracy..

And

NOW we are going to turn the Banking System, health care & the Auto Industry over to them?

Tell us your favorite Joke / The old man and satan
« on: June 03, 2009, 06:35:43 PM »
People were in their pews talking at church. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church. Every one started screaming and running for the front entrance in a frantic effort to get away from evil incarnate. Soon every one had exited the church except for one elderly old gent who sat calmly in his pew without moving, seeming oblivious to the fact that God' s ultimate enemy was in his presence.

Satan walked up to the old man and said, ' Don't you know who I am?'

The man replied, ' Yep, sure do.

Aren't you afraid of me?' Satan asked?

' Nope, sure aint, ' said the man.

' Don't you realize I can kill with a word? ' asked Satan

' Don't doubt it for a minute, returned the old man, in an even tone.

'Did you know that I could cause you AGONY for all eternity? ' persisted Satan

' Yep, ' was the calm reply

'And you' re still not afraid?' asked Satan

' Nope, ' said the old man.

More than a little perturbed, Satan asked , ' Well, why aren't you afraid of me?'

The man calmly replied, ' Been married to yer sister for 49 years.

Business Opinion / Outstanding Service *Action Auto*
« on: February 11, 2009, 08:03:09 PM »
This to me is very rare, so I thought I would share it with you all.

I needed some automotive trouble shooting on my Mountaineer and took it to Action Automotive. Sherry took the vehicle late in the evening and the next day it was repaired. We picked it up and all it needed was a tune-up and new plugs (Over 100,000). No problem.

Less than a week later it started missing again. Took it back to Action Auto. They found a bad spark plug wire. Replaced it. Charged me nothing for the parts or labor.

Now that's my kind of service and they now have a customer for life.

Thanks Sherry and crew, outstanding customer support.

Received this yesterday...... You can give them your bank account to traffic money through but I will not be doing it.....
BMS, Bullet Motorsports Speedlab, was originally founded to turn "ordinary" BMWs into the fastest race cars possible. BMS race cars have won numerous national championships over the past four years and BMS continues to promote club racing through its driver development program. From their intimate knowledge of the inner workings of BMWs, and countless hours of track time testing products in a high-stress environment, BMS technicians are highly skilled in tuning BMWs and Minis for street applications. There are many misconceptions in the aftermarket tuning industry. Our job is to separate the truth from the hype, for the benefit of our customers. Of course, tuning by itself is insufficient without full knowledge of servicing not only BMW components, but also the full range of aftermarket equipment from superchargers to stereos. There is nothing on your BMW or Mini that BMS can't fix - or if you desire, improve.
Today we have a chance to announce a vacancy of a Regional Financial Manager. This is a part-time job position; you will be required to be available 1-2 hours a day. Pulaski Enquirer / St Roberts Tax Board Vote For TIF
« on: May 30, 2008, 04:25:34 PM »
Heard on the radio this am about a vote by the St Bob Tax Board, they voted to approve a TIF for the old Fields property outside the front gate of FLW. If approved by the City Council we should see a Hotel/ Convention center with a small mall. A development company out of Springfield. Just what I heard on the Radio...
