Sarah Palin Calls for Invasion of Czech Republic
Apr. 22, 2013 Palin called for the invasion of the Czech Republic today in response to the recent terrorist attacks in Boston.
In an interview with Fox News, the former governor of Alaska said that although federal investigators have yet to complete their work, the time for action is now.
"We don't know everything about these suspects yet," Palin told Fox and Friends this morning, referring to Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who allegedly carried out the Boston Marathon attacks. "But we know they were Muslims from the Czech Republic.
"I betcha I speak for a lot of Americans when I say I want to go over there right now and start teaching those folks a lesson. And let's not stop at the Czech Republic, let's go after all Arab countries.
"The Arabians need to learn that they can't keep comin' over here and blowing stuff up. Let's set off a couple of nukes in Islamabad, burn down Prague, then bomb the heck out of Tehran. We need to show them that we mean business."Can't See Russia...Although hosts Steve Doocy and Gretchen Carlson applauded Palin's jingoism, they immediately attempted to rectify her multiple geographic errors.
"Well Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan, which isn't Arab," Carlson corrected, "and Tehran is the capital of Iran, which is predominantly Persian. But I do see your point."
"Also Czech Republic isn't really an Arab or even Muslim country, I don't think," Doocy added, "but otherwise what you're saying makes a lot of sense. I think most Americans wish Obama would step up and lead on this one."
Palin, however, didn't take kindly to being corrected and defended her analysis.
"Steve, that's probably one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard. How is Czech Republic not a Muslim country? You saw those brothers, they were Islamic and they were Chechen!"
"Yes there were Muslim and they were ethnic Chechens," Doocy started, "but they grew up mostly in Kyrgyzstan and the United States. And more importantly, Chechens don't come from the Czech Republic, they come from Chechnya, which is part of Russia. "
"What's the difference?" Palin responded. "Isn't Russia part of the Czech Republic?"
"No, the Czech Republic is a separate country. It's part of the European Union and a strong NATO ally," Doocy noted. "But heck, why not? Let's invade. What could go wrong?"
"Yeah and while we're at it," Carlson added, "let's call the Queen of England and see if the U.K. will join us."
In a statement released after the interview, Palin attacked Fox News and its "pro-Islamic" and "pro-geography" bias.
"This is just another case of the politically correct liberal media refusing to tell the truth about radical Islam," she said.

Arkansas residents evacuate as Exxon-Mobil tar sands pipeline ruptures
 By David Ferguson
 Saturday, March 30, 2013 12:38 EDT
An Exxon-Mobil oil pipeline ruptured Friday afternoon in the town of Mayflower, Arkansas, forcing the evacuation of 20 homes and shutting down sections of interstate highway. According to Little Rock’s KATV, a hazardous materials team from the Office of Emergency Management has contained the spill and is currently attempting a cleanup. The burst pipe is part of the Pegasus pipeline network, which connects tar sands along the Gulf coast to refineries in Houston. Thousands of gallons of crude oil erupted from the breach around 3:00 p.m. on Friday, spilling through a housing subdivision and into the town’s storm drainage system, fouling drainage ditches and shutting down Highway 365 and Interstate 40.
Residents were evacuated to avoid health hazards from crude oil fumes and to keep stray sparks from igniting the standing oil. Emergency workers contained the spill by hastily constructing earthen dams.
Exxon-Mobil reportedly has a crew investigating the accident. The company released a statement Friday that read, in part, “We are working with emergency responders and local authorities to respond to the incident and are establishing an information line for community support. We regret that this incident has occurred and we apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this has caused.”

Community Call to Action

The United States Army is asking for public comment on its plan to reduce the total number of forces from 562,000 at the end of fiscal year 2012 to 490,000 by fiscal year 2020 and the realignment of its forces over the coming years. The plan will result in significant impacts on a variety of economic measures in communities neighboring 21 installations, according to an Army assessment of potential changes to the service’s force structure scheduled to occur over the next seven years. This plan will have a significant impact on the socioeconomic status of our communities neighboring Fort Leonard Wood. The direct economic impacts could include reduced employment, income, regional population and sales.

Fort Leonard Wood Impact. The current permanent party force is 9,495 Soldiers and Army Civilians. This does not include trainees, students, family members, other Service members, contractors or non-full time employees.

The reduction for Fort Leonard Wood would be up to 3,900 soldiers and Army civilians. This would be a loss of 41% of permanent staff at FLW. The model the Army uses also projects a loss of 450 direct and 504 indirect jobs in the region.

The projected economic impact in the three county region (Laclede, Phelps and Pulaski) would be as follows:
Annual Sales               Annual Income           Employment                Population
   -$167.6M                      -$177.9M                    -4,818                         -9,729
       -8%                              -6.75%                      -11.21%                         -7.5%

There would also be a loss of almost 3,700 K12 students in the region.
The study also identifies a loss of 10% of training load and an unknown percent of Other Service members that are not factored into the analysis.

Tell us your favorite Joke / Giving up Beans
« on: February 22, 2013, 12:40:40 AM »
One day I met a sweet woman and fell in love. When it became apparent that we would marry, I made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans.
Some months later, on my birthday, my car broke down on the way home from work. Since I lived in the countryside I called my wife and told her that I would be late because I had to... walk home. On my way, I passed by a small diner and the odour of baked beans was more than I could stand. With miles to walk, I figured that I would walk off any ill effects by the time I reached home, so I stopped at the diner and before I knew it, I had consumed three large orders of baked beans. All the way home, I made sure that I released all the gas.
Upon my arrival, my wife seemed excited to see! me and exclaimed delightedly: "Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight."
She then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table. I took a seat and just as she was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang. She made me promise not to touch the blindfold until she returned and went to answer the call. The baked beans I had consumed were still affecting me and the pressure was becoming most unbearable, so while my wife was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a pulpwood mill. I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other cheek, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage. Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room, I went on like this for another few minutes. The pleasure was indescribable. When eventually the telephone farewells signalled the end of my freedom, I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back on it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself. My face must have been the picture of innocence when my wife returned, apologizing for taking so long. She asked me if I had peeked through the blindfold, and I assured her I had not. At this point, she removed the blindfold, and twelve dinner guests seated around the table chorused: "Happy Birthday!" I fainted!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many point to the fact that Bush allowed the assault weapons ban to expire in 2004 as an indication that he caved in to the NRA. John Kerry even accused Bush of conspiring to "chose his powerful friends in the gun lobby over the police officers and families that he promised to protect."

In Reality Bush wanted to renew the assault weapons ban but was forced to let it expire when it became clear that he may not retain office in 2004 should he alienate core Republican voters.

National Political Opinion / COLUMBINE STUDENT'S FATHER 12 YEARS LATER!!
« on: December 23, 2012, 07:33:07 PM »
Guess our national leaders didn't expect this. On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.
They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:
"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good &evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.
"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.
"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent
I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
 Your words are empty air.
 You've stripped away our heritage,
 You've outlawed simple prayer.
 Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
 And precious children die.
 You seek for answers everywhere,
 And ask the question "Why?"
 You regulate restrictive laws,
 Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!
"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact.
What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws.
Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him.

To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!
My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Tell us your favorite Joke / Farm pond
« on: December 05, 2012, 10:15:59 PM »
An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years.

He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed
 it up
nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees.

One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over.

He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit.

As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.

As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.

He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.

One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!'

The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.'

Holding the bucket up he said,
'I'm here to feed the alligator...'

Some old men can still think fast. :)

“The sad thing about that is yes, there is prejudice and racism in the party but the real prevailing thought is that they don’t think minorities will ever vote Republican,” he told the Post.

Greer went on to suggest that there was "absolutely nothing" state Republicans wouldn't do in following their "absolute obsession with retaining power."

The Grand Old Party seems to be obsessed with vaginas at the moment. Lady parts, pink bits, va-jay-jays; whatever you call the female genital area, the GOP is all up in that business at the moment. AD CHECK: Dave Spence Sinks to New Lows with Blatantly False Claims September 28, 2012Share    ST. LOUIS, MO — Dave Spence’s new ad makes patently false claims about Missouri’s economy and Governor Nixon’s record.  After repeating claims about Missouri’s economy that were debunked yesterday by KMOV as “false,” the new ad asserts that Harley Davidson’s “jobs went to another state” because Governor Nixon “refused” to meet with the company’s executives.  Both claims are demonstrably false.
Governor Nixon did, in fact, speak with Harley executives, later brought them into Jefferson City for a 2-hour personal meeting and again met with leadership when he toured the plant.  And instead of building a factory or creating jobs in another state, Harley Davidson decided to keep its plant in Pennsylvania and actually reduce its workforce there.  Meanwhile, contrary to claims in Spence’s ad, Harley Davidson’s existing plant in Kansas City is up and operating, with more than 800 workers.
“The fact is that Missouri led the Midwest in job growth last month and today there are over 800 workers at Harley Davidson plant in Kansas City, but Dave Spence’s false and dishonest attack ads shouldn’t surprise anyone.  After all, this is the same guy who was caught falsifying his academic credentials and misleading voters about his bank’s $40 million bailout from Washington,’” said Oren Shur, Nixon’s campaign manager. “Dave Spence’s increasingly desperate attacks don’t stand up to scrutiny – and they will fall flat with voters who know that while Governor Nixon was balancing the budget every year and protecting Missouri’s perfect AAA credit rating, Spence was helping to run a St. Louis bank that took a $40 million bailout from Washington and refused to pay it back.”

Local News / Possible shutdown of Fort Wood may be in our future
« on: August 09, 2012, 04:35:41 PM »
Someone mentioned to me if i heard about a rumor going around about fort wood announcing it will shut down around 1-1-13 and that by 2015 they would hand over the keys to St Roberts....I cant see this happing but when i googled it this is what i found ...

it is from Kiplinger and the article is base closings that could happen in the near future...Benning and Sill are even mentioned as is this:

Ft. Leonard Wood Location: Missouri Ozarks

 Population: 5,408 active-duty; 12,183 family members; 2,716 civilians

 Founded: 1941

 Size: 97.6 sq. miles

Regional economic cost of base closing (first year): $3 billion

Ft. Leonard Wood specializes in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapon schooling. It often does joint work with the Department of Homeland Security. An entire closure of this large base is unlikely, but a realignment of several divisions is possible. Services it provides may be picked up by bases on the Gulf Coast that do some of the same work.

Justin Smith ATTENTION CITIZENS OF CROCKER AND SURROUNDING AREAS: It has come to my attention, as the Crocker Park Board President, that there are some people who are concerned about there being a "beer garden" at the rodeo this weekend at the park. I cannot stress enough that this will be a controlled and safe enviroment for our children to attend. No different than taking them to a Cardinals ball game, or the State Fair. The Crocker Police Dept will be there policing and ensuring its a safe enviroment. Some people have voiced to me that they are contacting the AFRA Rodeo Co. and trying to shut it down. this would be a devasting blow to our community park. We are raising the money to fix the playground equipment for our kids. Please, Please, Please attend the rodeo this weekend and support our efforts to better serve our community. It was never the Park Board, nor City Council's intention to offend anyone. We apologize for any hard feelings this may have caused, but ask that you support our community, not chastise our efforts to improve our park. Thank you to all who have and will continue to support our efforts.
