Business Opinion / Re: New Businesses
« on: July 03, 2014, 05:56:21 PM »
I heard Dollar Tree from an employee. Otherwise I'm not sure... I wonder if its an "if you build it they will come" type situation where the real estate will sit empty for awhile.

Someone who pays better attention than I do can give a better, more accurate name, but I saw a sign on the Ryan's building that a hibachi grill type place will be coming soon.

All i know is the chinese place that went into the ryan's in jeff city isn't bad, and they use every bar that ryans had in that place, which is a lot of food! We ate at Aussies the other night, so unless it has closed in the last week, I think it's still open.

Way too close to home for me... we liveo n Burlington

It isn't going to deter my husband from smoking and he wants to quit and talks about quitting but has had no luck... so we will just be paying even more for cigarettes.

6
That's the first thing I said Kristi was that there was no way! They live on resort road, his parents, don't they?

There has been some changes though... all temporary jobs abolished and like the situation I was in where I was an IMCOM employee working for an MWR function, we were considered overhires and placed elsewhere... why would they do all that if they are going to close the base soon?

Local News / Re: Rodeo in Crocker forced to not sell beer.

I did hear that the churches that these people belong to were willing to make a donation to the cause, and that some were more generous than others... but I'm not sure where that info came from other than someone who was working the rodeo.

I don't really see the problem either, especially since it's a beer garden and they are expected to stay in the tent with the beer. One issue may be though, that the AFRA, rodeo asociation, has in bold on their site, no alcohol will be served at our sanctioned events... It's always something... if it wasn't this, they would have a problem with the way the money is taken or how the cars were parked, or who knows what else.

It isn't going to go away... they are nut cases. And I give their schedule a look as well, because if they are close by I want to know it...

I drive a ford focus and it's awful. I WILL NEVER buy another Ford. It's a 2011 and it shifts hard, the engine revs for now reason, had it in because the doors don't unlock like they should, my husband has had to queeze the car seat and our infant out from between the front seats on many occasions.
The only thing Ford has going for them are the colors.
We have given it a very naughty nickname. We now call it our Ford F**Kus. :/ not that I ever use that kind of language  :-[

I know many homosexuals do not think that they are gaining rights fast enough, but believe me, from experience, that the only type of people left who suffer discrimination LEGALLY is the obese. You are allowed to not hire them and they are treated like second hand citizens. I know, I was almost 500 lbs. and now am under half that weight and the difference in the way I'm treated is phenomonal. People actually look at me in public and open the door for me, believe me I understand how awful that makes you feel.
All i'm saying is maybe they should realize the rights they have gained and be happy with that.

I agree with some of the thoughts on this page. Everyone needs to make sure if she was fired... A lot of places don't have family friendly rules so it could be true, it doesn't mean it is.... I don't normally stop there anyway, so I am an unbiased voice....

They got good fingerprints off windows in our church when it was broken into, but never did hear anything after that. So don't know if there wasn't a match or what happened.

Off topic but there have beenso many changes in that little mall where subway used to be. The pet store is gone, not sure when that happened, and one half of it is called happy jumpers, or something like that, and it's full of those kids bounce things. Brook went to a birthday party there and had a lot of fun. Heard that Charmed is moving again, not sure where, and they are putting a restaurant in that spot... but not sure about all of that.

State News / Re: Seven Arrested in DWI Checkpoint
« on: June 26, 2012, 05:09:32 PM »
We were ticketed at a checkpoint in Crocker for no insurance, we had it, just didn't have the card on us because I forgot to get it out of the folder when I registered the car. It wasn't a big deal, we took the insurance proof to City Hall they made a copy and we were done. No harm and no traffic court.

This is so awful... I just don't understand. I check on my little ones all the time. Didn't sleep last night because Ireland wasn't making as much noise in her sleep as usual. Why do these people even have kids?

we were pulled over in Crocker driving Brooklyn around at 2 in the morning, they didn't like how we were "Cruising town" at that hour I guess. Luckily now we live out in the sticks with a long driveway, so we could just go up and down the driveway if we wanted :)

Same carnival as every year but I didn't notice the bigger rides. I think there were more vendor tents this year than last year.

I saw this report on the news and he was honestly acting guilty... course innocent until proven guilty, but he was aggressive and very angry.

How awful... I just don't understand... even the worst nights with my girls I would never think of doing that. If I get frustrated and annoyed  I strap em in and go for a car ride, because that always puts them to sleep
