My nail girl is working there now, so I went the other day.  The place is really nice looking!  I hope the shop is successful because I am hearing a lot of good things!

We played there last weekend (Kricket Alley).  The place has been completely remodeled and added on to.  It is REALLY nice on the inside.  In fact, if you didn't know better, you would have no idea that it used to be the Hill Tavern.  It's still small but, the add on helped.  We had a good time while we were there and the owner and employees were very nice.  It's worth checking out.

I have Laclede Electric and yes, my bill was much higher than last month, however, I pulled up and compared last years bills with this years, and it is pretty much the same.

Sneak Peek Sheriff's View / Re: ROADBLOCKS?

We played at the St. James VFW for new years.  No one driving had any drinks, so we were not expecting to have problems getting home anyway.  However, we drove from St. James to Denny's at Rolla for breakfast at around 0130, and then headed home at nearly 0300.  I don't recall seeing any law enforcement out while we were on the road.  I was kind of surprised.  I think a lot more people stayed home this year than in years past.

I'm a complete wimp.  I would not like it at all.  I would obviously find a way to survive, but it would suck.

Thanks for all the new questions.  They were difficult to answer, and some I simply couldn't!

I guess we'll just have to wait for DTM to finalize his report to know what the deal was. At least I know my kid was pretty accurate in his synopsis.  And no, he did not have a substitute.

Florida.  I went on vacation there the summer before last and fell in love with the place. I have longed to return ever since.

These are all great answers.  And I have to say that I would not change a thing with my child if there was a way to detect such a gene.  I would love my kids no matter what.  I have no issues what-so-ever with homosexuality and would not ever bother having such a waste of time and money test.

Thanks DTM - it looks like my young eyewitness wasn't too far on his version of the chain of events.  I may make a decent reporter yet!
There was a fire alarm at the school and there was an evacuation. School fires are among the things that I race off to routinely, but firefighters arrived and found nothing before I even had time to get my tie and coat on, let alone get into my car and get started down the road from St. Robert to Waynesville. That much I can confirm.

I am **REALLY** hesitant to start reporting results of fire alarms being pulled since it's likely to generate more alarms, but since this is already being discussed on the internet, I'll call the chief tomorrow to find out how he believes the school personnel responded and if they responded appropriately. I don't want to call him at 10:30 p.m. on a non-emergency issue.

(And yes, if any Waynesville firefighters can't get to sleep and are reading this tonight and want to call me to get this laid to rest ASAP, I think most of the senior personnel there have my cell number. I'll be up most of the night and you can feel free to call or e-mail. Or I can talk to the chief tomorrow if you prefer.)

Of course...Again, I was really just seeing if anyone else's kids had mentioned this incident or knew anything more than the story my kid gave me.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking as well.  That's why I added that this was coming from my 13 year old.  I hope that he is over-embelishing the length of time it took for the teacher to figure it out.  He did say when the alarm went off, the teacher actually stopped what he was doing and said, "What's that?"

Local News / Re: Incident at Waynesville Middle School
« on: December 13, 2008, 01:35:56 AM »
No, just a loud bell.  The teacher didn't know what was going on, so he opened the door, the bell grew louder and there was a bunch of other strange sounds accompanying it.  He still waited, not knowing what was going on.  He started gathering the students to go outside a few minutes later after he noticed some other teachers doing it.

My son just told me that in the middle of classes today, an alarm went off and after two minutes of the teachers not even knowing what it was, they figured out it was a fire alarm.  All the students headed outside, and a fire truck showed up.  They were allowed back in the school maybe a half hour later.  Granted this info is coming from my 13 year old who is known for over-embelishing a story and has no sense of how much time has passed during an event.  I'm just reporting the news as I hear it.   ::)
Anyone else hear anything???

I say hoping, because mine is a decently priced laptop for my daughter.  I am still holding out for a good sale.  Wish me luck!!!
What about you?

I plan on stopping in next week.  That's the plan...whether I'll pull it off is another question.  There are 12 and 15 slots open in the 2 classes right now, so I won't doddle too long!
That is why I am only able to take one course at a time. Graduate level coursework is no joke.  ::D:
Make sure the classes you need don't fill up before you come to see me.  :th_gen129:

Yes. LOL - In fact, I was looking tonight at the 2 classes available.  You were is a lot of work!  That's why I haven't been on the boards too much for a while.  But, I'm doing fine.  I still have an A so far.  1 more big paper and a final to go!
Hi KA, hows school going? You know it is time to register again, right?  ;D

First off, I love that you are referring to it as The Gathering.  Secondly, I do have to say to all that although I have never personally met you, I feel like I have since we have been talking for a couple of years now on and off the board.  And that in itself, I think, is pretty darn cool.  I got your back.
