Heelo Darrell,
That was a good history lesson. I hope our local populous took the time to read your entire explanation.
I think too many folks now-a-days are short sighted regarding our history let alone world history. I must confess, I never read an explanation such as yours in any one-history book that tells the story as succinctly as you did.
I think it is too bad that our local high school students do not get exposed to factoids such as this...we might actually have well educated high school graduates instead ill-equipped young people. (END)

Hello Maynard,
What is the address of that radio station?  I'd like to hear it.

My guess is somewhere between 75-80% of crime committed is a result of a chemical dependency or a mental condition.  All of this property crime that is occurring in this county (burglary, break-ins, shoplifting etc) is because criminals are stealing so they can afford to buy another hit of heroin or another round of meth.  It is really sad to see what someone will do to feed their addiction.  Yes, I realize that alcohol has many of the same evils, but prohibition was tried and was a complete disaster.  Is it a perfect solution, no, but it is what the law says.

Therefore, as prosecutor, I intend on prosecuting drug crimes aggressively and fairly.  Many of these folks needs to be sent to prison, many need to be sent to rehab, some to both.  If the State outlaws K2 which seems likely, I'll prosecute those who break the law.

Is there any REAL chance of getting a drug court in Pulaski County? If I am not mistaken the courts did a pilot drug court in Texas County.
oops~ this is Jax. I just happen to be on Derek's computer at the moment. :sleepy1a:

Our neighborhood could use a couple of your signs!  Our location is simple, almost directly across I-44 from the VFW.  Your opponent has one out there all by come on now!

The flag flown here came from a bunch of posters from the WW II era.  So yes, there are only 48 and that is just fine.  At least there are not 57 as some would have.

Amazing how Europe is recording our current events while our media turns a blind eye to what's happening here?
It's like the elephant in the middle of the living room that the family denies is there.
C'mon reality lets wake the hell up!!

It is beyond aggravating to stand by and watch how Obama continues to place his radical followers in made up positions.  (I did do my part by NOT voting for him.)  It just does not pass the common sense test to me, that these czars are popping up throughout the government outside of the established chains of command and they just do not belong there but they have Presidential backing.  This is just another example of how far off kilter we are however the root of the problem goes much deeper than this.

I agree with matersnot that current events look a heck of a lot like a "bloodless coup" which has uprooted the direction our government and our country.  America is a living experiment, a Republic governed by a Democracy not a Monarchy.  Our forefathers stood up to a King and his governing lackeys who were deaf to the citizens and sought only to live lavishly as they exercise absolute control over all others.  I wonder what our forefathers would say about how 'We the People' have allowed our country to devalue the gift they gave us.  It surely did not happen overnight.  My parents and yours were blind, ignorant, or disinterested so no one watched what our politicians were doing so the politicos became permanent fixtures in D.C. as well as our states Capitals. We ALL are at fault for allowing this.

The result of our in-actions have allowed us to receive this "CHANGE" that Obama promised.  I did not sign on for this nor do I like the direction we are heading.  I have hope that our system will work one way or another to call out Obama and the other socialists take them to task and soon!  Our history shows what works and what does not.  We are in the midst of the Tea Parties ... what happened next?!?!

I would honestly like to understand HOW or WHY the Law Enforcement agency responsible for all of Pulaski County appears to be so poorly funded.  It seems like a funky math formula, which states that funding is equal to the inverse of the square mileage within the agency's area of responsibility. So the greater the area, the less monies are allocated. I just does not pass my common sense test.  Maybe I need to drink a lot of Kool-aid or something to get it???
If one of you can show me the light and tell me what has been done to fix it in the past I'd appreciate it.
I remember when POST was getting organized...that made sense but I am not sure why that fizzled.  I am willing to stick my neck out for what is right....I've been doing it for over 19 years and soon I'll be able to volunteer my time to make a local difference.  I cannot wait!!

When you say "Dog Days" ...  what exactly are you referring to?

Jim, I like your idea of sharing the fun once bitten.  :woohoo:  He he he.  :yahoo:

Stranger things have happened.

Lesson? Don't forget your district, and don't forget your base of supporters within that district. If you do, it will come back to bite you in the butt, no matter how big you've become.

Gee Dave, it looks like you should seriously consider serving your greater community by running against Ike.  He HAS definitely lost touch with his constituents.  I contacted his local office a few months back and feel highly disregarded by his canned reply.  Heck, a staffer could have replied in his place...I would not have known the difference.  I'm grateful/fortunate to have job and I know it.  That said, we are definitely on a fixed income as there's no OT for the military.

Dave, I know nobody likes to be "volun-told" for a job however, I sure hope you'll compete against Ike or one of the other traitors in the next election.  Tell you what, I plan to let my roots take hold here in Richland when I hang up my uniform.  I'm willing to serve my community now if asked but as I understand it, I have to wait till I'm retired.  If you have something for me to do for the community now or later (except being a "community organizer"  LOL ) just let know know.

yes, it is too bad. I would have loved to see someone like BM to be David Days PR man as he volunteers to serve in a higher capacity.

I hope that enough of those elected servants of ours pay attention to current events and our own National history.  I would hate to wake up one day to find that some unread bill just stripped "we the people" of our inalienable rights.  More so, I hope no one gets the bright idea to rewrite our history books so our young folks become completely ignorant to all of those valuable lessons.

I have had several teenagers in session today very torn up by the situation. None of the clients were with me after his death.
Please, pray for the young people and help them whenever you can.

Local News / Re: Special Report to the Pulaski County Commission
« on: March 26, 2009, 02:42:39 AM »
I appreciate the historical explanation, that was enlightening.
BLUF: what does it take to be a county commissioner?
What is the legal requirement to be eligible to become a county commissioner?
Does an individual need to be a judge and therefore have a law back ground?
Who has run in the recent past that is still viable and preferable?
(BLUF = Bottom Line Up Front)

Darrell, thank you for the education.  I do appreciate this kind of explanation.
So, if judges became the modern day commissioners then the requirement to be a commissioner is what exactly?  Are there eligible residents who have previously served with a fair and even hand who can step up to the plate one more time?

Folks, I have lived in PC for six years and I plan to stay here once I hang up my uniform.
I do not understand the role of a commissioner within PC.  Can someone educate me?
I fail to understand this discord between the commissioner(s) and the safety of the citizens who supposedly elected them.   :police:   My goodness, this sounds like some game that our trusted servants at the Federal level are playing!!   %%$%$$#
So, when can the bad apples be voted out and who is a feasible candidant to replace them??  What are the qualifications??
