{hug} to Kathy and a karma too.
Maybe next year you ought to plan a get away trip, leaving those two at home.  Pack up and go on a shopping/movie/museum weekend somewhere, alone or grab a friend.  Bet they'd miss you and appreciate you then.

City Government Opinion / Re: Waynesville Utilities
« on: January 23, 2008, 12:44:16 AM »
I don't have Waynesville utilities, but with my utility company the due date is the 20th.  I pay by the 20th whether it's Monday through Friday or if it falls on the weekend. I have never assumed dropping it off on Monday morning  (If the 20th was on a Saturday for example), that it would be considered on time.  I never have check out their "grace period" I just assumed if I put it in the box after the 20th, it was late.

This is a very nice facility.

We went Friday night. Service was good, food was good.  Met the new owner, he was very nice.
Yes the uniforms are cute.

I haven't eaten at "Term blocked by site" yet.  I've been there to meet someone, but didn't stay long.  I'll have to check them out.  Hopefully it's not a leech from the PS computer repair next door.

I saw "Term blocked by site"'s ad in the Old Settlers Gazette.  They are advertising free WiFi, so your legal!

I was out in the Elbow this morning and there are a bunch of people doing clean up on at the scenic overlook where you can see the old railroad trestle.  I believe that Lay Z Day Canoe's spearheaded the project.  Several volunteers from (ANOC), Army, Advanced Officers Training Course were doing the manual labor.  (THANKS GUYS!)  It is looking really nice!

We end up over there every few months for shoes.  Always find a good deal.  The gal that has been there the last few times is very helpful (She worked tonight).  She immediately lets you know what's on sale, comes back to check on you, just really nice.  It's not often you find employees that take initiative in their job.
&&*&^  Treat her good Rick!

You Mean the western auto that Pete Rouse used to own
 Is now a vacant lot?

Yes Maynard there was a fire there some years back.  It's now just a cement area, and they set up the food court there during Christmas on the Square.
Old Pete, I just loved him.  He was one of the sweetest people in the whole world.

Maynard, you'd remember this, remember that little bitty, teeny tiney, shoe repair shop near the end of Jim's Super Market Bldg and the StageCoach Stop?  It was no bigger than a closet.

Down where Business Graphic's currently is, was a dress shop and they had a small selection of porcelain  nic-nacks.  I can't remember who owned it but I believe a woman named Eleanor worked there.
I miss Rexall's.
Remember Weber's? I liked their store they had crafts at the front of the appliance store for sale. (Down where Am Family Ins is now located)  Later on after Weber's closed it opened at Roubidoux Fitness Center. I remember doing aerobics in that big window.  What a sight that made! LOL

We use this stuff called RoundUp.  It's in a white container and is sold at Wal-Mart.  It's expensive, but you dilute it.  It will KILL EVERYTHING!  So be careful and it doesn't take much.   We use it to edge around stuff in our yard so we don't have to weedeat so much.

Good post jlh!

That is kind of what I thought, but I am one to not make a scene. We actually thought it was kind of funny...and saved us probably $6 or so between the drinks and tip.

Went to a local restaurant that offers buffet.  They sat us.  We sat for while, then finally just got up and went to the buffet.  We ate, visited, waited.  NO ONE.  No one even walked near our area to be able to flag them down.  At this point it was starting to be funny, we figured, heck we just saved money on a tip and drinks.  Finally we get up go to the register and the cashier asks, Where's your ticket?  I said we don't have one, we didn't have a waitress.  She says what?  I said a waitress never came to our table.  She asks what did you order?  I said well we had buffet.  What did you have to drink?  I said nothing, we did not have a waitress.  She looks right at me and says nothing to drink? I said NO there was never anyone that came to our table to wait on us.  And she says......Oh.  Well what would you like to drink?  ..Ah nothing...we are standing here to pay for our food.  We are leaving...duh.

If you live in Waynesville I would call the city.   774-6171.  I am sure that is who my Mom called.
Topgun, the ones at my Mom's house where the same way.  You would open the door and they would just sit and look at you.  No fear.  But they would chase family pets, tump over flower pots, you could not go and sit on the back deck and enjoy yourself.

My Mom had this problem in her neighborhood.  Some neighbor was feeding these raccoons and when she is gone for a period of time they start looking for food, being very destructive in the process. Anyway, I believe someone from the city came and set up a trap in her back yard.  This was in Waynesville.

hey, after the fort dix thing, ID checks and gates are not a bad thing.  Car registration is a hassel.  Passes for non military should run an ID check against suspected terrorist names ...a quick run through a simple computer database and a quick car check.
Agreed, after all we need to live in reality.

Best drive thru.  They get the order right, food is always hot. And 9 times out of 10, before you can pay the cashier, your order is sticking out the pickup window.
Average drive through time from order placement to pulling away from pickup window...approximately 2 minutes.  Amazing.
