Seems the outer road by the Hub changes to 15 miles per hour from the Hub to the the Alarmco area.. I know, I got a ticket for going 31 there.. 16 miles an hour over is a big ticket I imagine, for my record it will look like I drive like a bat out of hell. First ticket I can recall in like 20 some years.. My accountant who owns a business there didn't even know the speed limit was 15..

Rule One:
If you pull into my driveway and honk you’d better be delivering a package, because you’re sure not picking anything up. Rule Two:
You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her, so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off of my daughter’s body, I will remove them.
Rule Three:
I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys of your age to wear their trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off their hips. Please don’t take this as an insult, but you and all of your friends are complete idiots. Still, I want to be fair and open minded about this issue, so I propose this compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear showing and your pants ten sizes too big, and I will not object. However, In order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact, come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten your trousers securely in place to your waist.
Rule Four:
I’m sure you’ve been told that in today’s world, sex without utilizing a “barrier method” of some kind can kill you. Let me elaborate: when it comes to sex, I am the barrier, and I will kill you.
Rule Five:
In order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back at my house, and the only word I need from you on this subject is “early”
Rule Six:
I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is okay with my daughter. Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you will continue to date no one but her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry, I will make you cry.
Rule Seven:
As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process that can take longer than painting the golden gate bridge. Instead of just standing there, why don’t you do something useful, like changing the oil in my car?
Rule Eight:
The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter:
- Places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool.
- Places where there are no parents, policemen, or nuns within eyesight.
- Places where there is darkness.
- Places where there is dancing, holding hands, or happiness.
- Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka zipped up to her throat.
- Movies with a strong romantic or sexual theme are to be avoided; movies which feature chainsaws are okay.
- Hockey games are okay.
- Old folks homes are better.
Rule Nine:
Do not lie to me. I may appear to be a potbellied, balding, middle-aged, dimwitted has-been. But on issues relating to my daughter, I am the all-knowing, merciless god of your universe. If I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God. I have a shotgun, a shovel, and five acres behind the house. Do not trifle with me.
Rule Ten:
Be afraid. Be very afraid. It takes very little for me to mistake the sound of your car in the driveway for a chopper coming in over a rice paddy outside of Hanoi. When my Agent Orange starts acting up, the voices in my head frequently tell me to clean the guns as I wait for you to bring my daughter home. As soon as you pull into the driveway you should exit your car with both hands in plain sight. Speak the perimeter password, announce in a clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then return to your car-there is no need for you to come inside. The camouflaged face at the window  is mine.

I44 Project: Construction on Interstate 44 Delayed, Pulaski County
Two-Way Traffic Now Scheduled to Begin on Wednesday, April 6 (MM 158-162) near Waynesville

Willow Springs, Mo. - The first stage of a road resurfacing project on Interstate 44 has now been delayed until Wednesday, April 6 due to forecasted weather. Traffic on Interstate 44 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for four miles, from mile marker 158 to mile marker 162 near Route Z in Saint Robert, beginning Wednesday, April 6.
During the first stage of the project, several ramps onto and off of I-44 in the St. Robert-Waynesville area will be closed at various times:
Ramp Closures:
Mile Marker 163: Eastbound off-ramp closed 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays
Mile Marker 161: Westbound off-ramp, Westbound on-ramp and Eastbound on-ramp closed
Mile Marker 159: Westbound off-ramp and Westbound on-ramp closed
Mile Marker 156: Eastbound on-ramp closed 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays
The first stage of this resurfacing project is expected to take 20 days. During this time, drivers can expect slowed traffic throughout the work zone, especially in the Saint Robert and Waynesville area. Some traffic congestion is expected, as traffic in both directions is reduced to one lane. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible.
This long-term treatment is expected to extend the life of this section of I-44 for 35 years, as crews will be adding an 8" overlay of concrete. The prime contractor on this project is Emery Sapp and Sons of Columbia, doing the work for a low-bid amount of $11.08 million.
Motorists can visit the website for this project at http://www.modot.org/southcentral/I-44/construction.htm  to get the latest news, web camera views of the project, ramp closure details and more. I DID NOT GET PAID, he "didn't have it" and "doesn't count money when he's drunk." He had no intention of EVER paying me for a WHOPPING 6.5 hours of karaoke.

Local News / Close call with Train in Rolla Today..
« on: January 24, 2011, 05:45:55 PM »
On January 24, 2011 at approximately 4:10AM Central Communications received a 911 call from a caller indicating that he and his wife had made a wrong turn and were now stuck on some railroad tracks somewhere in Rolla, MO. The caller did not know exactly where they were at, however he did indicate that he could hear a train approachin...g. Rolla Police Officers were dispatched to try to locate the vehicle which was stuck, while 911 operators instructed the couple to exit their car. The female driver did exit the car, however the male passenger, who apparently walks with the assistance of a walker, had difficulty exiting the vehicle in time. A 1999 Dash 9-44CW train owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe and operated by Ty Andrews age 55 of Galena, MO, which was approaching, saw the vehicle stuck on the tracks at the 18th Street Crossing and immediately began activating emergency braking procedures on the train. The train collided with the automobile, a 2001 Mercedes Benz owned and operated by Barbara Dixon age 75 of Springfield, MO. The vehicle then struck the male occupant as he was attempting to get out of the car and knocked him to the ground. The male was later transported to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center by ambulance for injuries he sustained to his hip. The train sustained minor damage while the Mercedes Benz sustained moderate damage. The Rolla City Fire Department & Phelps County Ambulance assisted the Rolla Police Department with this incident.

Local News / Dixon Woman Cashes In On Feeling
« on: December 20, 2010, 06:21:07 PM »
It’ll be a good Christmas for one Dixon family.  While doing some grocery shopping for her mother on Nov. 28, Heather Wagoner “got a feeling” and decided to spend $5 on Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets.  One of the $2 “Frosty Fortune” Scratchers tickets she bought at Country Mart, 508 E. Fifth Street in Dixon, turned out to be a $10,000 winner.

“(The) feeling hit me, and I walked out the door.  I had a $5 bill in my hand.  I put it in the machine and bought $5 worth of tickets and won!” exclaimed Wagoner.

“I play a lot, but only when the feeling hits me, and then I win,” she continued.

Wagoner hedged somewhat, explaining that the most she had won in the past was $100.  When she discovered the $10,000 prize while sitting in the parking lot, it registered as her largest win to date.

“It was exciting,” she recounted.  “I couldn’t even hardly drive, I was shaking so bad.”

Wagoner, 39, was accompanied to Jefferson City by her daughter, Shanna, and a friend, April, to collect the prize on Nov. 29.  Shanna was excited about potential Christmas presents she and her brother, Ethan, might receive.

“I’m going to buy Christmas for my kids,” Wagoner said.  “They’re going to get new guns and new boots.”  She added that she would buy new eyeglasses for herself.  A large part of the prize money will go toward paying bills.

“I usually don’t spend money on tickets unless I got a feeling.  I can’t explain it.  And when I have that feeling, I’ll put it in.  Especially at times when I really need money, that’s when it comes through,” Wagoner explained.

Wagoner said she’ll continue to play the Lottery.  She has been saving her non-winning tickets for the Missouri Lottery “Hi-Tech Holiday” second-chance promotion.

“It’s luck of the draw, I mean really, whether you have a feeling or not.  I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.  If I hadn’t had to go to the grocery store for my mom, I probably wouldn’t have won,” Wagoner suggested.

She added that her mom would get a nice Christmas gift as well.

Local News / Fort Leonard Wood Man's Numbers Come Through, Again
« on: December 20, 2010, 06:17:58 PM »
The lucky number is eight for a Fort Leonard Wood man, who won a total of $4,050 on eight Missouri Lottery Pick 3 tickets.  Gene Blount, 39, was “in shock that the numbers came through” in the Dec. 12 drawing.  He said the random numbers – 2, 7 and 9 – came to him moments before he bought the tickets.

“This is the second time this year that I’ve been here to collect a nice check from you guys,” said Blount, who won a $4,300 Pick 3 prize last spring.

As for plans for the prize money, Blount’s nieces and nephews will be reaping the benefits.

“It’s Christmas, so it’s going to be going to Christmas presents for the family,” he added.

Blount purchased the winning Pick 3 tickets at Mobil on the Run, 122 St. Roberts Blvd., in St. Robert.
