Consumer Alert
Pulaski County Sheriff J. B. King
June 23, 2009

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department would like to issue a consumer alert notice to warn citizens of a possible scam that might appear in our area. We will be unable to provide detailed information on this scam or names of possible suspects due to an ongoing investigation.

The scam involves the purchase of a vehicle from a dealership or a private person by the use of a “gift certificate” with a face value equal to the purchase price of the car to be purchased. Should anyone approach you and offer to buy your vehicle with a “gift certificate” the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department would advise you to avoid this business deal.

Please contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department at 573-774-6196 if you are approached by anyone who offers to make a vehicle purchase through the use of a “gift certificate”.

I bought a package for their bronze beds last year. The normal price for one session is about 15 dollars, I think this package had maybe 4 sessions and I may have saved 5 dollars..

I went there yesterday to use one of the sessions, they said my sessions had expired, and that I would have been told they had a expiration date when I purchased them. I know for a fact they didn't tell me that when I purchased them. I might also add that I think this is one dumb policy, simply because they will never see another dime of my money.
