Local News / Re: City of waynesville sues pulaski county sewer district
« on: October 29, 2009, 04:43:06 PM »
I am under the impression that this lawsuit stems from Skyline needing sewer service and the County Sewer District being unable to provide it. The city of Waynesville stepped up to provide this service so the business could open and prosper. You decide who is wrong or right.

OCT. 28- CITY OF WAYNESVILLE SUES PULASKI COUNTY SEWER DISTRICT

(WAYNESVILLE)--THE CITY OF WAYNESVILLE IS SEEKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE PULASKI COUNTY SEWER DISTRICT. THE CITY IS WANTING A JUDGE TO DIRECT THE SEWER DISTRICT TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH WAYNESVILLE. DOCUMENTS TO THIS EFFECT WERE RECENTLY FILED IN CIRCUIT COURT.
CITY ADMINISTRATOR BRUCE HARRILL SAYS THE CITY HAS BEEN TRANSPORTING AND TREATING WASTEWATER FROM THE SEWER DISTRICT FOR ABOUT FIVE YEARS WITHOUT AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT THAT DEFININES PAYMENT RATES, TERMS, AND RESPECTIVE SERVICE AREAS.

THE SEWER DISTRICT FILED A LAWSUIT SEVERAL YEARS AGO AGAINST WAYNESVILLE TO PREVENT THE CITY FROM PROVIDING SEWER SERVICE TO SKYLINE CYCLE AND OTHER RECENTLY ANNEXED PROPERTY THAT WAS WITHIN THE ORIGINAL SEWER DISTRICT BOUNDARIES. THAT LAWSUIT IS STILL IN THE COURT SYSTEM

National Political Opinion / Re: Obama declares H1N1 emergency
« on: October 27, 2009, 04:04:14 AM »
But traffic accidents can't suddenly become an epidemic that spreads like wildfires..

According to the Center For Diease Control about 1,000 people have died from H1N1 this year in the U.S. (as of Oct. 24th).  To put things in perspective, that is about 9 to 10 days worth of traffic accidents in America.

Not saying the President should or should not have done what he did (I personally don't believe it matters much either way...at least not from how it is addressed in our state), I would agree with DN on this, no matter what he did he would be criticized for it...either for going overboard or not being a leader.

Thought you might be interested.

Who would that be?

Let some of your banned people back on and watch the excitement build! Yea I try really hard not to go to St Robert at all if I can help it either!

They are grinding the old surface off and will lay down new blacktop as soon as they can, when it is done it will be forgotton. I don't get why people are complaining. This happens every where all the time. I actually appreciate the fact that Missouri does this now as it makes for smoother roads. In years past I'd usually get beat up just driving to St. Louis and I had been complaining.

get on the city rt thread

Both are correct eh?

This must be an alternate reality... like that episode of Star Trek.

Does Rick suddenly have a beard to tell us that he is evil Rick now?  LOL.

Yup, just like he killed all the people in the twin towers to make room for new buildings.

i belief both ages are correct..the good lord created the world "as we know it" about 8000 years or so ago, what he did before that with the earth is really irrelavent to me and my belief, looks like to me he killed off the dino's to make room for mankind

Give them Commissioner Bill Ransdalls number.

So when you make your call, the only deputy on duty, BECAUSE OF BUDGET CONSTRAINTS is in the northern end of the county, with a non-operable car....Now what is your solution.

Could you suggest a way we could get enough funding at the sheriffs department so they can be there for every call? You problem is with the Commissioners not the Sheriff. The Commissioners won't do anything to help the shortfall of funds.

OK, so I'm pissed!   READ THIS FIRST
Explain to me how the PCSD can respond to this person?  Seams to me that maybe that not all citizens are equal.  I do agree the PCSD are lazy and find many excuses not to do their job.  I don't care what anyone says, but when I am told that I was over looked because the deputy, or LT was busy hauling broken down cars and simply blew me off when I was trying to get help when my son was assulted and was being harrassed, what opinion is one to have.  They make their beds in the eye of public opinion by their actions. All citizen should be equal!

I'll 2nd that!  Explain to me how I can get a pay raise, but bring home less money (net) because my medical insurance costs went up. I go out less, eat out less, cut out "extras" and have a harder time paying my bills today than I have in several years...

Just like they faked the moon landing right?

I cannot keep from laughing at this statement. The FBI claims it has no evidence that Osama Bin Laden was involved in this. You cannot prove that jets brought those buildings down. They may have hit them but they didn't bring them down. Building 7 wasn't even hit. The films that the government claims are of Bin Laden claiming responsibility could be bogus propaganda films put together by Bush cronies in the war machine. The bastards never told the truth about anything else and you believe him on this. That is not a smart move. Smoke and mirrors and you are caught up in it.

Q: What is the shortest chapter in the Bible?
A: Psalms 117

Q: What is the longest chapter in the Bible?
A: Psalms 119

Q: Which chapter is in the center of the Bible?
A: Psalms 118

Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118

Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118

Add these numbers up and you get 1188

Q: What is the center verse in the Bible?
A: Psalms 118:8

Q: Does this verse say something significant about Godís perfect will for our lives?

The next time someone says they would like to find Godís perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word!

Psalms 118:8
ďIt is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.Ē

Now isnít that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)?

I can also assure you they would be thrilled with additional funding.

For the record the operation side of the PCSD gets about $708,000.00 for this budget year. Last time I checked SRPD paid out over $800,000.00 in officer salary alone in a year. ( Not slamming SRPD just a heavy dose of envy)

I think the big debate here is, will building our own jail to save us money. In the end that sells it or fails it. I believe there are those who do not believe our own jail saves us a dime. Personally I don't know the answer to that question.

Don't forget to figure in possible increases in boarding cost at other jails in the future. I might add that the mere idea that we are considering our own jail reminds our landlords from other counties to watch what they charge us. That could cover the costs of the study alone.

It is your money to use at your discretion, go for it. This serves the community well..

No, not from my own pocket. The civil fee fund is the answer. If JT could use the money in that account to file a lawsuit against the Pulaski County Commission and the MSHP then I think a jail study is OK.
