National Political Opinion / Re: Dear Congress
« on: September 04, 2009, 10:54:32 PM »
Just a drop in the bucket compares to US consumption.
And it is British. Bah Humbug
Another problem Darrell, is that the CforC deal has driven the price of used cars and trucks up as many that were very road worthy are now headed for the scrap yard instead of being on the open market which drives the supply of said cars DOWN!

As someone who does this for my livelihood I can tell you that CofC may have helped some individuals, it appears to have helped Ford (but not GM and Chrysler), it helped Toyota and Honda but it has hurt many other small businesses throughout the nation.  And this administration continues to show a propensity to help the big and let the small suffer (irregardless of what the Democratic platform is).

Additionally, this program has almost busted many stable new car dealerships as they are still yet to be "refunded" by the government what they had to invest in each of these "clunkers" (can you imagine being a large dealership taking in a couple of hundred clunkers and being OUT a million dollars or more with the government promising that the check is in the mail?).  And on top of that, we've yet to see how many cars and trucks that were supposed to meet the qualifying terms that somehow don't at the end of the day.

The program was an absolute BUST, imo.  And the fact that 2 billion of yours and my tax dollars went to fund this really gets me steaming!

PS - In a somewhat related story, did anyone read about the HUGE oil find in the Gulf by BP?

County Government Opinion / Re: Texas Road Death Trap
« on: September 03, 2009, 10:20:31 PM »
We have a tree sticking out 2 feet into the road here on teardrop road in Devils Elbow for weeks now.. The county is responsible, good luck getting it done.
Is there anyone who can tell me who is responsible for the upkeep of Texas Road? I have been living here for over 5 years now and in that time there has been no improvements to that road. Digging deeper ditches to help water flow and shoddy patch work is not an improvement. The increase in the population in the area only adds to an increasing problem.  Now they did attempt to fix the road by repaving it, but if you havenít driven down that part of the road you are really missing out, whoever they paid to do that work got over, they didnít widening the road like it needs to be, the fail to roll the asphalt to pack it, which lead to gullies from vehicles travelling over it, so water will fill up in the road and I cannot understand why they do not divide the road with yellow lines.  Now I know there are people who have lived here longer than myself and have probably seen that road come from a dirt road to what it is now, but my concern is that we all pay our property taxes and personnel taxes every year, but to me we have nothing to show for it.  Please can someone give me an intelligent answer instead of ďwe donít have the moneyĒ, because to that I say you are full of it and maybe you need to go to a budgeting class, because you had money to spend on that crap of job on Texas road, you just donít have and standards.

I have an idea, here is a site that has the entire bible on it, and anyone can go read it at will. That way we don't have to cut and paste its entire contents in here. Or better yet, someones interpretations.

Did you find a girlfriend yet?
  To appease you, I watched the video. As I suspected its total B.S. prayers are answered everyday most people are just too stupid to realize it. First of all you have to give your heart soul and mind to God. Then and only then will you have his ear. Non-believers can pray to milk or God (usually something selfish like winning the lottery) And never get results. God knows whats best for us and even though we may not get it, our prayers are being answered.

Questions for Evolutionists
Written by: Walt Brown

The test of any theory is whether or not it provides answers to basic questions. Some well-meaning, but misguided, people think evolution is a reasonable theory to explain manís questions about the universe. Evolution is not a good theoryóit is just a pagan religion masquerading as science. The following questions were distributed to the 750-plus people who attended my debate at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota, on January 9, 1993. (The videotaped debate is #6, $9.95.) Questions added since the debate remarked with an asterisk (*).

   1. Where did the space for the universe come from?
   2. Where did matter come from?
   3. Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.)?
   4. How did matter get so perfectly organized?
   5. Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing?
   6. When, where, why, and how did life come from non-living matter?
   7. When, where, why, and how did life learn to reproduce itself?
   8. With what did the first cell capable of sexual reproduction reproduce?
   9. Why would any plant or animal want to reproduce more of its kind since this would only make more mouths to feed and decrease the chances of survival? (Does the individual have a drive to survive, or the species? How do you explain this?)
  10. How can mutations (recombining of the genetic code) create any new, improved varieties? (Recombining English letters will never produce Chinese books.)
  11. Is it possible that similarities in design between different animals prove a common Creator instead of a common ancestor?
  12. Natural selection only works with the genetic information available and tends only to keep a species stable. How would you explain the increasing complexity in the genetic code that must have occurred if evolution were true?
  13. When, where, why, and how did:
          * Single-celled plants become multi-celled? (Where are the two and three-celled intermediates?)
          * Single-celled animals evolve?
          * Fish change to amphibians?
          * Amphibians change to reptiles
          * Reptiles change to birds? (The lungs, bones, eyes, reproductive organs, heart, method of locomotion, body covering, etc., are all very different!)
          * How did the intermediate forms live?
  14. When, where, why, how, and from what did:
          * Whales evolve?
          * Sea horses evolve?
          * Bats evolve?
          * Eyes evolve?
          * Ears evolve?
          * Hair, skin, feathers, scales, nails, claws, etc., evolve?
  15. Which evolved first (how, and how long; did it work without the others)?
          * The digestive system, the food to be digested, the appetite, the ability to find and eat the food, the digestive juices, or the bodyís resistance to its own digestive juice (stomach, intestines, etc.)?
          * The drive to reproduce or the ability to reproduce?
          * The lungs, the mucus lining to protect them, the throat, or the perfect mixture of gases to be breathed into the lungs?
          * DNA or RNA to carry the DNA message to cell parts?
          * The termite or the flagella in its intestines that actually digest the cellulose?
          * The plants or the insects that live on and pollinate the plants?
          * The bones, ligaments, tendons, blood supply, or muscles to move the bones?
          * The nervous system, repair system, or hormone system?
          * The immune system or the need for it? 16.There are many thousands of examples of symbiosis that defy an evolutionary explanation. Why must we teach students that evolution is the only explanation for these relationships?
  16. How would evolution explain mimicry? Did the plants and animals develop mimicry by chance, by their intelligent choice, or by design?
  17. When, where, why, and how did man evolve feelings? Love, mercy, guilt, etc. would never evolve in the theory of evolution.
  18. *How did photosynthesis evolve?
  19. *How did thought evolve?
  20. *How did flowering plants evolve, and from that?
  21. *What kind of evolutionist are you? Why are you not one of the other eight or ten kinds?
  22. What would you have said fifty years ago if I told you I had a living coelacanth in my aquarium?
  23. *Is there one clear prediction of macroevolution that has proved true?
  24. *What is so scientific about the idea of hydrogen as becoming human?

      *Do you honestly believe that everything came from nothing?

      After you have answered the preceding questions, please look carefully at your answers and thoughtfully consider the following questions.

      Are you sure your answers are reasonable, right, and scientifically provable, or do you just believe that it may have happened the way you have answered? (Do these answers reflect your religion or your science?)
  27. Do your answers show more or less faith than the person who says, "God must have designed it"?
  28. Is it possible that an unseen Creator designed this universe? If God is excluded at the beginning of the discussion by your definition of science, how could it be shown that He did create the universe if He did?
  29. Is it wise and fair to present the theory of evolution to students as fact?
  30. What is the end result of a belief in evolution (lifestyle, society, attitude about others, eternal destiny, etc.)?
  31. Do people accept evolution because of the following factors?
          * It is all they have been taught.
          * They like the freedom from God (no moral absolutes, etc.).
          * They are bound to support the theory for fear of losing their job or status or grade point average.
          * They are too proud to admit they are wrong.
          * Evolution is the only philosophy that can be used to justify their political agenda.
  32. Should we continue to use outdated, disproved, questionable, or inconclusive evidences to support the theory of evolution because we donít have a suitable substitute (Piltdown man, recapitulation, archaeopteryx, Lucy, Java man, Neanderthal man, horse evolution, vestigial organs, etc.)?
  33. Should parents be allowed to require that evolution not be taught as fact in their school system unless equal time is given to other theories of origins (like divine creation)?
  34. What are you risking if you are wrong? As one of my debate opponents said, "Either there is a God or there is not. Both possibilities are frightening."
  35. Why are many evolutionists afraid of the idea of creationism being presented in public schools? If we are not supposed to teach religion in schools, then why not get evolution out of the textbooks? It is just a religious worldview.
  36. Arenít you tired of faith in a system that cannot be true? Wouldnít it be great to know the God who made you, and to accept His love and forgiveness?
  37. Would you be interested, if I showed you from the Bible, how to have your sins forgiven and how to know for sure that you are going to Heaven? If so, call me.

The percentage of people who claim to be christian has fell 10 percent since 1990 in the census.. There are more christians in the US now due only to the growth of the population.
86.2% 1990
76.0% 2008
Believers numbers are droping per capita.

And he was probably drunk, that's why he didn't report it until the next day.

Yes, I believe he was guilty of having an affair with Mary Jo and I believe he left her to die in the car because he didn't want to get caught with her, but he still has a family left behind.  My heart goes out to his children and the rest of his extended family.  They just lost Eunice and now Ted.  The Kennedy's, with all their money, fame, power, the end is still the same as every one else.  It just proves the old saying "money can't buy happiness."  I think we would all agree this family did not have an over abundance of happiness in comparison to the sadness they have suffered.

My great GrandMother died in this outbreak.  She got it by getting into bed with an ill child who was shivering to help warm the child. Compassion for human suffering killed her.

Alrighty then.
Socialism at its finest.

Every single one of those over 65, American hating SOCIALIST HITLER LOVING FASCIST NAZI WHITE HATING MF'ERS MUST DIE!

A bullet is too good for them.

I suggest using one of those bolt shooting cow killing machines.

Just line up those SOCIALIST AMERICA HATING NAZIS, they are too old to resist much, and shoot a steel rod into their FASCIST SOCIALIST NAZI LOVING AMERICA HATING heads.

Everyone KNOWS that SOCIALISM has never once existed in America, and there is NO WAY a bunch of crybaby over 65 SOCIALIST AMERICA HATING bastards are going to get away with TURNING AMERICA INTO NAZI GERMANY AND FORCING ALL OF THE HARD WORKING AMERICANS TO PAY FOR THEIR EXISTENCE!

Damn SOCIALISTS are everywhere you turn nowadays.

I would agree that many churches don't get the Sunday traffic Judy's does.

There was a woman killed in Crocker Cave after the bar was shut down. I need to do some more research on it to find the exact dates. I know some one that used to bartend at the Queen of Hearts and I think I might be related(step family) to one of the owners of it. Godfreys Hide-a-way was bought by Judy Dye and is now called Judy's Place. This is a great beer bar espically on Sunday afternoons. I beleive that is all correct but maybe Rick ought to check me out on this since he is twenty years older than me

Let's not make this thread about your inexpierience.

Busy fella wasn't he? What is he up to these days I wonder? You'd think he would get bored just hanging out when he is so prolific at creating things. I wonder if he reads your pastes?s
Let's see, he did this 6000 years ago, then suddenly 2000 years ago he sends his son to die for our sins. LOL.. Does he draw unemployment in his down times? Seems as great a worker as he has proved to you he can be, why the lull in creation stuff of late?
"Where did dinosaurs come from? That apparently simple question has been the subject of intense debate amongst scientists for over 150 years..." (The Natural History Museum Book of Dinosaurs, 1998, p. 12.) Some evolutionists speculate that reptiles, including dinosaurs, evolved from the amphibians; while the amphibians developed from the fish. It is believed that the Age of the Reptiles began during the Triassic period, approximately 225 million years. Certain reptilians that are thought to have lived in the late Permian/early Triassic (like gorgonopsians, the shovel Lizard Lystrosaurus, and Massetognathus) are supposed to have branched into both small rodent-like mammals and dinosaurs. The group of animals believed to be predecessors of the dinosaurs are called thecodontians. Most of the better known species of dinosaurs are said to have appeared in the Jurassic period, approximately 200 million years ago. According to evolutionary theorists, the dinosaurs flourished through the Cretaceous period, becoming extinct over 60 million years ago. Could random mutations and natural selection actually turn a fish into an Apatosaur, even in millions of years? There are serious problems with the naturalistic Darwinian scenarios and the accompanying probability arguments. It is also interesting to note that the dinosaurs are challenging to evolutionists because the diverse kinds of dinosaurs elude all attempts to construct a clear lineage back to a common ancestor (phylogeny) and transitional candidates are rare.

The Scripture says that on the fifth day of creation God created great sea monsters and flying creatures. This would have included the great swimming and flying reptiles (like the plesiosaur and pterosaur in Genesis Park). On the sixth day God created the land animals, which would have included all of the dinosaur kinds (Genesis 1:20-25). The scriptures are clear that everything was made in six days and therefore dinosaurs and man came into existence at the same time. "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day." (Exodus 20:11) Naturalists would exclude the consideration of such a view of origins, regardless of the evidence for intelligent design. They wrongly claim that science cannot consider supernatural explanations. Nonetheless there are several compelling lines of evidence that the Bible is Godís Word.

So wrong. LOL

I forget sometimes just how OLD Rick is. It makes me giggle inside... ((*(*&
