To double the release of backup up traffic in St. Robert.

Why all the way to the Elbow? Why not let them back on at Dixon exit?

No one even screamed Oh God during conception?

Mark: Nobody says you are dumb, or ugly. What we do say is that you usually don't put your own opinions up, you just use cut/paste. As for being created by a god, you can't prove that we were! When I created my children, no god was involved.

Watch what the guys is doing behind his mom while his mom is helping pick up grandma.

I think I did.  They got granny up off of the ground.  Okay, maybe that's the highlight, lol.
I just kept looking at that poor women and thinking.....wonder how many years and that could be me?

Did you watch the whole thing?

what was the highlight of the video?

Hitting grama isn't the highlite of this video.

The insurance companies are already competing with blue cross, and blue shield, was his answer.
Today some of the "talking heads" of the White House are saying that the President will accept a plan that does not have the Public Option, or the "insurance company" that would have been ran by the government.  While the President has not said it himself yet, there is no doubt that this is a trial balloon to see what public reaction is, a very common practice of all White Houses.  Yesterday at one of his Town Hall meetings a college student asked the basic question that I started this thread with, how can private companies compete with the federal government.

Basically the President answered that it is a legitimate concern but that is something they will have to work on.  He gave no details on what that work would be, but now this morning the trial balloon is out there to have a bill without that part, which was the cornerstone of the program in most of the bills.

While this will probably get some support from the Blue Dogs (as I said in this thread, that part was their biggest concern) it will likely cost support from those that want a single payer program in the Democrat Party.  It well may pick up some left leaning Republican support for the bill, all of that will have to be seen if a plan truly comes out without the public option.

Considering the President's past comments about not wanting a plan without the public option, IF the people talking on behalf of the White House are doing so correctly, it appears that they are moving into the mode of "we have to pass something to save face", or as one Democrat Spokesperson this morning said, we are about to see "Reform-Lite".

One think I am betting is he will not leave something this important to him and his presidency in the hands of Reid and Polosi again.  In the beginning I was surprised that a President with approval numbers of (a few months ago) around 58% would turn something like this over to a congress whose approval numbers in most cases were less than 22%, on most issues in the teens.

Of course I very easily could be totally wrong, but it is interesting and time will tell.

I love the fact that there is a ground swell of oposition to the bull that goes on in Washington. Maybe someday they will get it closer to right..
Here is the New York Times article on Sen. Arlen Specter's health care speech:
Here is an Associated Press video of one of the protestors. Incoherent, factually incorrect, and needlessly antagonistic are some of the words that come to my mind. And remember ... I'm a conservative, and I think Specter is dead wrong!
Sen. Specter is being polite. Can anyone seriously argue that this is a good "demonstration of democracy?"

How may we help you? : The Paramedic's Corner article "Common Myths about
Snakebite Treatment" was great. I handle public relations for the only
widely used snake antivenom in the US today, and Mr. Carmack tackled all
of the misconceptions we often hear. However, there is one myth that was
perpetuated. Mr. Carmack stated that copperhead bites rarely need
antivenom treatment. This misconception about copperheads having milder
bites and not needing antivenom can be dangerous to the patient. We've
seen some pretty nasty photos of patients bitten by copperheads. Any
patient who leaves the hospital following a non-treated copperhead bite
that shows progression runs the risk of a lifetime of mobility issues.
I'm hopeful that you'll provide your readers with this important tip.
Please let me know if you'd like more information. Thank you. Angie

Why is it legal to be topless at party cove?
I was told as long as you are on water in missouri you can be topless. Is this true?
No question about it, JuneBug ... the nudity in public view is unacceptable, regardless of any other factors. There are reasons Party Cove is off limits. Let's just say it does not help good order and discipline when E-3s are making comments about seeing a cute lieutenant without her bathing suit.

But I think we both agree that if a 19-year-old PFC was caught skinnydipping with his 18-year-old wife in an isolated part of a river a few months after they got married following three years of dating in high school, his sergeant would give him a good yelling at because he has to, and then probably laugh at the soldier and tell him to "get a room next time."

For this to be done by an older soldier who is probably an NCO or an officer shows a serious lack of good judgment for that rank, especially when the neighboring property owner has repeatedly told them to go away. And if it's an affair going on, that makes it even worse.

No. They told me that they would have told me when I purchased it. And yet they didn't.

seems like they would have put an expiration date on the paperwork you received.  You did receive paperwork when you purchased the sessions didn't you?  If you have paperwork/coupons and not expiration date then I'd say they owe you a couple tans.

Personally, I will be pasty white all summer. Can't take a chance with the skin cancer thingy.

So they can charge you again?
Why on earth would they expire?  That seems stupid to me.  You paid for them in advance, it's not like you're trying to get something for nothing.

Bad thing is they wouldn't show up to do the same thing in this county.
The Deputy Chief of Staff at FLW put this out to all and we should all watch.  I think it will be great:
The Major League All-Star Game tonight at St Louis will feature 150 Fort Leonard Wood Soldiers on the field as the flag is presented during opening ceremony tonight.   These 150 Soldiers are predominantly recently returned Soldiers from 5th Engineer Battalion, 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade…the other Soldiers are from our Warriors in Transition Unit (WTU).
Game time is 1900 tonight – and weather at Busch Stadium is expected to be fairly good despite the day’s precipitation as the majority of this storm system has been pushing South East and has been missing St Louis well to the south.
Please join a grateful Fort Leonard Wood Community in appreciation of these outstanding Soldiers chosen to represent the entire Army at tonight’s All-Star game televised world-wide.   What an HONOR!!!!!
