Correct.. It started a long time ago though..

This country is set to fall just as other great nations have fallen.  Just like Rome.  We are being destroyed from within as Kruschev predicted.  By power and money greedy politicians.

Rick doesn't always enjoy it that much. This was my hobby, not my job, but of late it has become a job that is growing and won't ever stop growing in its size and importance. It is not how I pay my bills, I have been working hard on that front with much success, and I apologise for my lack of input on here lately.

Enabling reader comments on articles may not be the only way to enable a two-way dialogue between writers and their readers. I suppose in theory it might be possible to develop some entirely new system. But over the last half-decade, the two standard ways for reader interaction that have developed are commenting on articles and reporters having onsite blogs with readers commenting on the blogs. Having links to the Pulaski County Web takes care of both functions for me, and relieves me of the duty of dealing with lots of stuff about moderating opinions and comments that I **REALLY** hate, but that Rick seems to enjoy doing.

The thing that is the most insane about this is that I repeatedly get attacked for leaving things on here and for removing things on here. Think about that. What way do you want it?

I realise that I can't please all so I fall back to running it in a style that allows me to sleep at night. 9 years ago Mike Dunbar helped me set that style, he used to call me almost daily when I first started this up to explain to me laws governing things like this, but mostly he schooled me on how I should run it, I listened and have been following his suggestions. I appreciate what he did, I can sleep at night, and it did used to stress me.. I feel my style is working for me and the community and I can live with my decisions.

Thanks for showing apreciation.

One last thing, there are people in very high places who appreciate what I am doing, they are the ones who call me.. They are glad I am helping improve the bullshit around here. Sprinkle that on your Cheerios..

One of my original thoughts 9 years ago was that this would actually clear up rumors.. It has done that yet no one seems to appreciate that fact. It has also started some rumors, but I believe in the end we get to some sort of truth. I am capable of reading between the lines. I think the biggest problem politicians have with this site is that they can't continue business as usual. This site has improved the political process here. People do fear being found out, and it makes them walk the straight and narrow. I provided the watchdog, so my plan worked... Hate me if you must, I heard a higher calling than yours. Not once has anyone called to to set the facts straight. Ironic?  Do these people fear speaking to me? I think they are guilty, they hide in the shadows and send others to do their dirty work. I for one am not fooled by their tactics one bit.

Remember good folks. I AM NOT THE ONE HIDING FROM YOU. I AM NOT THE ONE WHO THINKS I AM BETTER THAT YOU, OR THE ONE WHO DOESN'T THINK I OWE YOU AN EXPLANATION FOR MY POLITICAL DEEDS.

I still want a Fazoli's. Rick, can you do something about that? Maybe announce it and make it happen?

1453
I hear from a city folk years ago they had Panera, but hadn't heard more. I announced that along with the Lowes announcement no one believed at the time. I had to actually put the engineer drawings up here to get people to believe it.

Had a very good source tell me that a new eaterie is set in stone too to be located on the parcel by Lowes.  Perhaps one of the city folks want to break the news instead of me??

One convention center won't be self supporting, if it is part of a hotel then it can survive.

Yes, this was announced about a year ago, maybe longer. Mostly old news. And it is a very good question whether the area can support two convention centers.

Also, put April 14 and 15 on your calendars. AFP-Missouri will be hosting a tea party at the state capitol on April 14th beginning at 11:00am, and collaborating with other groups on April 15 to throw tea parties in St. Louis and Kansas City. More details to come.

I never speculated or insinuated anything about this acident. Now on the other hand, you did.

Just a thought... Regarding deer and larger animals.  Have you ever seen an accident when a large animal was hit dead on and flipped onto the vehicle and through the windshield?  It isn't pretty.  It kills or otherwise maims people bigtime.

If I can safely avoid hitting an animal I will.  If it is a larger animal I will most assuredly do so.  Something about flipping a large (100+ lb. animal) through a windshield into the passenger compartment while doing highway speed just doesn't bode well for those inside.

I don't know these folks but I am very sad that they were injured.  Noone was there and noone knows exactly how it happened.  I'm sure that she did her best to try to avoid tragedy.

As for the the other post.  We weren't there, we don't know.  Speculating and insinuating are just not cool especially when folks were injured.

It has always been my opinion that most who claim they avoided a deer are mererly making an excuse for running off the road..

i'm not trying to be heartless here... but when are people going to learn that their life and the lives of those in the vehicle with them are more important then the life of some animal or paying out for damages on a vehicle?
we should be teaching this in drivers education. try to avoid it, without leaving your lane of traffic. if you can't do that safely, run the damn deer over. then pull to the side of the road and make sure you are okay.  it's a small price to pay compared to sending you or your family and friends to the hospitol in serious condition or worse..

how many people have to die or be injured because of this kind of thing? it makes me shake my head everytime i hear it..
