Yes they did. What they have done is now offer a double cheeseburger with one slice of cheese instead of two for the 99 cent price. They call it something else now.. I forgot its name.
Did they raise the price of the double cheeseburger? I just ordered 2 of them and they charged me $2.58 on my receipt - that does not include tax. I also ordered a 42 oz drink and small fries and it was almost $5.00. And not it was not all for me! This was in Rolla.

Just remembered that I took my mom there a couple years ago, and she had a needle embedded in her foot, they did no Xrays, and an amature at best lanced the foot. A week later we took her to Rolla, they found the needle and admitted her promptly for surgery to save her life.. She's diabetic, foot sores of any kind should be looked into deeper..

When I was in the lobby I could hear her complaining that they were giving her a catheter, they did it anyhow.. The girl who was in the accident was gone an hour before we left. Her injuries amounted to bruising.
I agree there are some excellent staff employed at the army hospital. I just happened to run into some that were questionable. I don't mean to roll them all up into one negative ball.. Just made me mad that after what they did they had the nerve to hotline me.. Perhaps they are mandated to do that, but I think they have to have a good reason or atleast a better reason than they had. My mom won't be back there ever if I can help it.
Your post stirred up some memories of the conduct I overheard while there, there was a lot of unprofessinal comments coming from people on duty. Flirting, sexual inuendos etc.. I don't recall the exact details, but I do recall thinking it was unprofessional..
If you all don't think the health care system push the elderly aside, I guess you will have to wait until you are elderly to find out.
I had debated discussing this at all in this forum, and didn't until I read the article that then confirmed my estimate..

As with any place you are only as good as the staff you have on duty that day whether it be military or civilian. I have taken many many patients there over the years and seen many lives saved. Most of the staff are very hard working and caring, there are only a handful wether due to inexperience or lack of training that are unprofessional. The ER has recruited some very excellent Dr's from other hospitals. Also there is a war going on and many of the military are deployed. Short staffing may also account for some of the problems. Also I believe the ER was not the only place that was reviewed if they are in jeopardy of loosing accreditation is is due to the hospital as a whole.

As for your mothers situation sorry it sounds like there were many questionable things going on but I can tell you that from experience there are many factors that play in motor vehicle patients. The speed and impact of the wreck, what the patients complaints are and visible injuries as well as possible injuries. All these have to be considered and since many injuries are internal and none of us have x-ray vision there are things that you look for in treatment that are time consuming until all test results come back. I can tell you and your mother as a patient you do have a right to question and refuse any treatment that you do not want as long as you are able to undertsand the risks and benefits of refusing the treatment.

Casey Anthonys Daughter Caylee may have been found a quarter mile from her grandparents home. Bones of a child were found. Plastic bag and duct tape were also found. There is every indication that this child that was found is Caylee.

Nice try, but the pretty lady was fine, they told her she might be sore a few days, and every guy in the building consulted with her.. They treat the elderly bad, period..
Next you will tell me you'd like a catheter for a stuffy nose, when you are perfectly capable of walking to a bathroom? I bet you'd think it was normal..
Glad we don't have to argue about their level of care since the article spells that our for us.
"rushed" to the ER for a "stuffy nose", no wonder they took any type of MVA before her.

Who would have guessed.. I hate going there.. My mom was rushed there a few months ago and they ignored her, shoved a cathater in her so they wouldn't have to help her to the bathroom. All the while a really pretty girl had some minor injuries from a car crash and I bet every doctor in the building came to visit her in the booth next to us.. I finally pulled my mom out, they hot lined me for doing that.. The only thing that was wrong with her was sinuses stuffed up.. How many of you would want a cathater for a stuffy nose? That's called lazy and leans heavily towards mistreatment.. My mom was pissed, she asked me to get her out, and I did.
Well Fort Wood Emergency room, here's your payback.. You suck.. Most already know you suck, but now we have proof.. I have told the nursing home, next time it's Rolla.. Much better service..
Fort Wood hospital may lose accreditation  Jaime Baranyai %u2022 News-Leader %u2022 December 10, 2008
The hospital at Fort Leonard Wood could be in danger of losing its national accreditation, a summary of a special inspection of the military hospital shows.
OAS_AD('ArticleFlex_1');    Di Giacomo-Geffers and Associates conducted a Pre-Assessment Survey at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital Oct. 21-23, according to the one-page summary.
Concerns arose when surveyors evaluated compliance with 2009 standards. The surveyors cited three occasions when they felt the hospital provided false information or attempted to mislead surveyors, the summary said.
The hospital also did not have information from its July 2008 Periodic Performance Review on hand for surveyors to review, according to the document.
Under the revised accreditation process, decisions will be based on the "criticality" of patient care and/or safety, the summary says. Levels of criticality fall into four categories: immediate threat to life, situational decision rules, direct impact requirements and indirect impact requirements. The summary did not give examples of each category.
Immediate threat to life decisions during an accreditation survey will result in a hospital being issued a preliminary denial of accreditation, the summary states. Situational decision rules also will result in a recommendation of preliminary denial of accreditation or conditional accreditation.
During their inspection, surveyors identified three immediate threats to life, three situation decision rules and 27 direct impact requirements, the summary says.
OAS_AD('ArticleFlex_2');    Based on inspection results, surveyors warned the hospital that there is a risk it could receive an adverse decision such as conditional accreditation or preliminary denial of accreditation..
Fort Leonard Wood officials said they were working on the News-Leader's request for more information about the summary Tuesday, but had provided no further information by press time.

I get my moms mail there.
Rick I passed you on the square today by Lowes Law Office.  Did you make the mistake of going to the Waynesville PO? I went in to drop packages and there was about 8 in line.  Don't think they were happy that I just went in and put the packages on the counter and left.  Unhappy frowning people.  lol

Yes, they don't have much to choose from but if we support this local business it will grow.. Just think, mail a package, buy some smokes.. Can't do that at the other post offices..

And while you are there, buy something from the store!

I think one of the best kept secrets in Pulaski County is the post office in Devils Elbow.. Do you know there are never any lines there? They are a full service post office with everything Waynesville post office has with one big difference, there are no lines. Zero, Nada, Nix... Hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday and I think 9 to 11 am Saturdays..

I figure if the gal didn't lose her hearing, then I didn't kiss her properly..

Spoke to the owner today, he says the FBI has interviewed people as far away as Colorado on this matter. He told me they won't stop until they find who did this..

On the subject of my plethora of useless information today, I shall reveal the ingredients of Curleys secret sauce..
It was a mix of katsup, mayo, and mustard. People loved it at the time..

Richardsons Rexall, I loved going there for a burger as a kid..

I DJ'd at Ramada, the Pine, Silver Star, and two years straight at the Top Hat. Far as I know I was the first Club Dance DJ in the county. I had just came back from Arizona and told the owners of the Silver star what is popular out there. I packed every club I played..
In my single days I hit them all. some aren't around anymore;silver star,top hat,sailors pier,dees bamboo lounge,ditties.
area 151 must have the best history. I went there when it was the tepee and the ace of spades.
the embers(now sidetracker) was ok.
I think the country club is closed now.
but which is the oldest and still open?

That's what I am thinking. I actually worked at Curleys flipping burgers, that ages me a bit doesn't it?

Oh, and yes the Country Club is closed, and I even remeber when it was the Big 3, and Ed's Engineer Club at the Elbow too. Am I officially the oldest member of the Pulaski County Web?

My b/f and I go there at least once a week. We always have a great time, Not bothered by crowds and crowds of people, thats what we like. We like to be able to drink some beer and play pool, and be able to hear our conversation. LOL

My recolection was from the 80's.. Not sure. Middle to late 80's.. I know I read about it in the paper, and I didn't read the paper before 82 or so. they may have very well been off limits before that, but not from my recolection.
All I know is that in 1976 it was OFF Limits.. And has been on the list ever since. Least that I can recall.
