County Government Opinion / Re: Re-Elected Sheriff JB King!!!!
« on: November 06, 2008, 02:01:43 AM »
I enjoyed talking to Roger Harrison and his family, I learned something about our property taxes.. He staunchly defends his job, and gave me the impression he is doing what's best..

As for the majority of the other people in the room, Good Ole Boy is the word of the day..

As you'd expect I suppose.. I didn't enjoy it, I am not that morbid.

He was gone in under 1 minute..

I just have to ask though Rick, What did he look like when he found out he lost the lead with absentee votes?

I was at the courthouse where JT paced the floors for two hours with a 100 plus lead waiting for the Absentee to come in.. I have to admit I have to feel for people who have to go through that.. I saw his highs and lows all evening.. For two hours I thought he had it, I bet he did too..

JB 847 - JT 928 in Dixon.. That surprised me especially since people were fighting in the board over how much more Dixon support JT had over JB

For example, Day got 97.47 percent of the Absentee votes. The rest were write ins..

Day, David REP 11,073 100.0%
Total Votes  11,073

No he did not, we just didn't report the write ins.. If we did it would just spur people to do it more often. People who do that are really just wasting their time as none of the ballots are actually read, machines count everything.. Sure election judges see a few and get a laugh, but its intended impact is lost.

I voted for freethinker. That is how I know it is impossible for David Day to have gotten 100% of the vote. I am positive David Day won, but he absolutely didn't get 100% of the vote.

There were votes for mickey mouse in pulaski county, but he wasn't a clear winner this time, he was in a two way tie with other animated characters.

Hmmmmm...you may have something here.  I have a friend in IL that wrote in a name for President that I didn't see show up on the IL election website...may need a recount on both.

Actually, and this would be a question for the County Clerk, but I think write-in's have to reach a certain percent for an individual before it is reported, afterall, do you really think that Mickey Mouse received no votes this cycle, it was never reported on any major network....but hey, I would never want to mess up an election.

Dave

P.S.  You didn't register through ACORN did you...that might be the problem...LOL.

Jordan: Muslim Brotherhood Celebrates Obama's Victory, "We Consider This an Apology From the American People"....
Amman- The Islamic Action Front (IAF), Jordan's largest political party, on Wednesday expressed guarded optimism over the election of Barak Obama as the next US president and said they considered his win an "apology" from the American people to the peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan. "We welcome Obama's election and believe that his win represents a clear message inside as well as outside America," IAF Secretary General Zaki Bani Ershaid told Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

"Obama's victory is also tantamount to an apology from the American people for the crimes committed by the outgoing Republican administration in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere," he added.
Bani Ershaid said that his party, the political arm of the influential Muslim Brotherhood movement, was "cautiously optimistic" over the change promised by Obama and believed that the "starting- point for this change should find expression in a correction of the US foreign policy on Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan."
US polls: Indonesian Islamic fundamentalists cheer Obama win   Achmad Sobry Lubis, secretary general of the militant, anti-American Front Pambela Islam (FPI) said that he “praised Allah for Obama’s win.” Across Europe, Asia and the Americas millions spent all night celebrating the Obama win, and even in much of the Islamic world Muslims celebrated a new start for relations with the U.S.

I just realised this could be taken wrong.. I don't support Mahew or Mackey. This had nothing to do with any other race.

I predict no winner either way. I am voting for Mackey..

None of my business, but do you want JB to win?

YT, you might, but I doubt those numbers. I have observed this for years. The deputies have to make a living. They are very good and will work for the citizens, regardless of who is sheriff. I do not know all of your dispatchers but one and that one greatly likes JT and will work for him without a second thought. I just do not see much turnover in reality. They may tell you that because you are very vociferous and clearly for JB. I honestly do not think that is a problem. Just my humble opinion and working with cops for years. Most just want to do their job and will, no matter the sheriff. And, that is a good thing.

I agree with you on Roger. He will win by quite a margin. The one I can't predict is Mackey vs Mayhew.

My predicted winners are.

JB King

Earl Arnold

Wayne Anderson

Roger Harrison

All by no less that 55 percent..

Pre-election predictions? Will you have some post-election predictions? LOL

Hahaha, I know Rick. Most of my friends are strong conservatives, way more so than Bill Farnham. A lot of republicans are voting for JT. I know for a fact. I was just explaining the 2004 election. I had readily beat Farnham before. The big movement that year carried JB & Farnham over. In this county, can it happen again? I just don't know. But, I do predict an upset of JT over JB.    I think Obama will win Pres. Nixon Gov. Arnold Eastern Commission. Rest I don't know about. Oh yeah, Anderson Western district. Those are my pre-election predictions.

You forget that for decades we Republicans decided every election.. Oh shit, I wasn't supposed to let the lesser educated Dems know that.. Now Gary, don't be reading this to your friends.. You should stop this nonsense before we start not letting the good dems into office.. LOL

The ones who don't read papers?

That was a big Republican "tail-coat" effect. Will it happen again? Maybe. If not I predict a close victory by JT.  50-100. He will win all the towns across the river.
