Nope.

I have always found it disrespectful to Thanksgiving when people put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving has even arrived.
Anyone else feel this way?

Am I to understand our country wants to stiffle the sales of coal when it is a huge export and we have a good chunk of it on our continent?

Sounds to me like Walsh took a position with which most of us on the Pulaski County Web would agree. It's the greenhouse gas/global warming issue that underlies the "cap and trade" vote that would dramatically increase electricity bills; Ike Skelton's vote for that bill was a major factor in Farm Bureau endorsing Hartzler and seems to have been a major factor in Skelton's defeat.

A simple nice to meet you and a hello to the people around me would have went a along way.. She was miss ice queen..

"On the other hand, if you identified yourself with the Pulaski County Web, between my reporting on her and some information she's been getting from certaiin local leaders, I think she might just be concerned that anything she said could show up on the internet."  DTM Quote

So what you are saying is she has time for the media but not for anybody else.  Face it, she lost in Pulaski County and she could care less whether anybody here likes her or likes what she does.  She won without this vote.  Now what we need to do it kiss her butt so she thinks Pulaski County is a great place and will work hard to do what is best for this county and not just the ones that voted for her.

The curve on T Highway is the worst in my opinion, when rounding it it lifts your car up, which in turn causes traction loss. I would imagine ice slide offs are abundant....

OK, new game in town. Name the road location that needs help badly, limited to Pulaski County.

Dips on Rt. C at Dixon, S curves on Mo. 7, the Dublin Dips on Mo. 133. The intersection of Rt. C and Mo. 133, the curve on Rt. T two miles north of Mo. 17, the hill just north of the new bridge on Mo. 28.

I have it started lets hear you picks.

That's a very good idea.  I know I slow way down knowing the city limits are ahead..

I too lost a class member on the dips back in 1987, and he was not the only fatality that night.  Every time I drive over the dips I still think of that wreck.  Needless to say, it was very difficult to hear the news the other night.  No one should ever pass on the dips!

One possible solution might be to extend the city limits signs out to the C junction and lower the speed limit.  At least it could be more easily enforced.   Not that I am a fan of "speed traps", but if there were ever a need for one, that would be the place.

Does their religion allow them to collect and pay sales tax on those sales?

It's also the road the Amish travel in their horse drawn buggies.Last year,I believe, one was hit by a guy in a pick up.Buggy totalled, driver slightly injured, horse just fine. This same Amish guy is at the corner of C and 28 every Tuesday from noon til about 1pm,selling eggs and produce still.

No, we are not reporting the uncontested races.

any way to see the totals for the uncontested races as well? I know the person won, but I personally would like to see the vote totals. In particular I would like to see the accumulative totals for the County Clerks office.

683
If Vicky gets 40 percent of the votes I will consider it a huge victory.
To quote what Vicky said today. "MSNBC moved our race from 'lean democrat' to 'toss up' "
I beg to differ dear..

Let us know how that works out for you.....

684
This is all irellevant, Ike will win in landslide fashion as usual. Only thing left for Vicky supporters is the crying..

685
On one of Ikes commercials he said on approximately 5500 votes, Ike voted with Pelosi about 75 times or less, I forget the exact numbers, but what you heard is wrong

Ike voted 95% of the time with his left wing cohorts, Pelosi, Reid and Obama.  What is conservative about that?

686
John Deere is opeining a store in the Rolla St, James area.

Vicky says she knows how to create jobs, but I have yet to hear her tell how she intends to do this? Will she create jobs in Pulaski County? Will she open a tractor supply store in Waynesville? How many people would work there if she did?

687
Thanks Ron, Pulaski County Web does and always will endorse Ike. The poll we had on our board said so do the majority of our members.
Thanks for being one of the White Hat guys in our community..

Fish says:  what happens if Ike is reelected and leaves office a different way? He   is 78, not in the best of health. I do not wish him ill will, but Ike   will not be around forever and too many act is if he will.

I don't understand this argument.  To me 78 means someone who is experienced and knows what he is doing (he's not a freshman).   If Ike dies in office, there will be a special election.  In the meantime, we will have the best possible Congressman (out of those who have signed up to do the job) for FLW.

Fish says: There are 4   other branches of service with training schools on base. any closing of   flw will affect all 5 branches. I don't believe flw is too big to close,   but I don't believe the fort will ever close. far too much involved   there.

The only reason there are five Services at FLW is that Ike saw the need for FLW to be a multi-Service post a long time ago.  This is one thing that Ike did, but he's done much more to keep and grow FLW.  The three major schools that are here do not need billions of dollars of special infrastructure.  Remember, two of those schools moved here in 99.  If the political will changes, all of it can go somewhere else.  This isn't fear mongering, this is the reality of the situation.

Fish says: What does need to happen is to bring industry here. The area   needs to be self sufficient without the fort. What industry has Ike   brought? what has macaskall done? Vicky knows how to create jobs and   just might be the better choice to improve the area, despite flw's   presence. but those jobs need to be in the local area and not   necessarily on base.

I hope Fish is not saying that creating non-defense jobs here is a higher priority to keeping and growing FLW.  A bird in hand versus two in the bush comes to mind.  FLW is a tremendous cash cow that any other community would give there first born for (whatever that is to a community).  every federal dollar for payroll and supplies that comes to FLW circulates 2.8 times in the community.

A basic concept in economic development is the creation and growth of industry clusters.  Lebanon is one for the recreational watercraft industry.  You cannot create an idustry cluster out of a bare field and hope.  Thousands of communities have the same thing.  Nor can you build one as part of a campaign promise.   Ike has been working long and hard to develop a defense-related industry cluster in the FLW region.  The Leonard Wood Institute, which has brought tens of millions of dollars to the area's businesses and universities, is part of that effort.  The tech park at FLW is another part of it.

Ike has fought for us, brought the bacon home time and again, and will continue to do so - if we re-elect him.  I call on all pragmatic Republicans, Independents and Democrats in the FLW region to vote for him
