Hidden Valley is owned by the Farris family. Thomas properties are managed by their office in the Clayton Towers Mall.

And Luther Thomas properties in Hidden Valley owns a couple places in St. Robert that might be good if you can talk them into letting you go there.  The building next to O'Reilly Automotive belongs to them and it is empty at this time.  Across from Dairy Queen.

Skye Powers from Hometown Pharmacy in Dixon owns that property. That's you would talk to.. The Head Shed is there too..

Call the lady that owns Dog World (grooming)  in St. Robert.  It's close to the Catholic Church.  I think she is the only business in that little area and that would a be a good place for a farmer's market.  Right on the City Route and easy in and out parking.  I don't think she owns the property but she can put you in touch with whoever does.

Did this as a child but with a purse and garden snake.. Normally we took fishing line tied to a purse and placed the purse by the side of the road and watch people scramble to get the purse, then yank the line as they bent over to pick it up. Good times..

With all the bomb stuff and other things out there I'll be damned if I would have picked it up.....BUT I sure am glad they did!! ***(**&

Again it is whitey causing all the problems.

This is correct.

I am really sorry to not have been as clear and concise with the answers that are needed here.  i am new to the whole thing and i have gotten a bit of information that should put some of the worries at ease.

This is how it will work.  The appraisal value of your property and the assessed value of your property are not the same.  You take the appraised property value.  Lets say it is a $150,000 appraisal.  The tax increase will only be applied to 19% of the appraised valueOn a $150,000 appraisal, only $28,500 of that is eligable for taxation, which is the assessed value.  With the tax increase the total amount paid by the property owner with a $150,000 appraisal will be $131.10 annually.  That new number is including the $71.50 that is generated by the new tax.

I apologize for getting everyone worked up over what seemed to be a large increase and a high tax.  What we go off of is the assessed value of the property, not the appraised.  The assessed value is 19% of the appraised value of a property.  That 19% is the only amount that draws the tax for the fire district.  It is my fault for not giving all the information that was needed to help people make this decision.  I hope that this answered some questions and help ease some concerns.

Are you saying she lied?

Personally I am not against this tax, I am concerned it falls on the back of people on fixed incomes.  I'd rather see it be a sales tax so all have to pay, not just property owners or people like me who pay property taxes on several properties. I also know you have tried that route and failed.. One good campain would have been the best route, all these campains that have failed can hurt this one.. I was personally shocked how little support you had when very few voters went to the polls, it seemed to me you didn't even gather your friends and family to vote that day. Therein lies the reason I assumed this too will fail..

ZORAXION CITY, IMPERIAL HOMEWORLD—A laser pointer directed at the night sky by a young human in 1997 has finally reached the home planet of the Zoraxian race and is "annoying the hell out of everybody," sources on the alien planet reported Tuesday. "What is that irritating dot?" Zoraxian Emperor Fi'ar Shal Shoka communicated in a telepathic message delivered to the outer edges of the Throndastural Sands. "It's pointed right at my facial genitalia. This is so embarrassing." At press time, irritated Zoraxian military personnel were hard at work building a giant megalaser designed to incinerate the source planet of the irritation

Someone needs to tell all the other news writers, reporters and newscasters about this. I am thinking they don't know the rules..

see..  this is an example of what I feel is one of the biggest problems in our country. and i'm not attempting to attack darrell on this, i'm just using this as an example.

we have people in the media who don't just report the news and feel their job is done. they also speculate and offer opinion on what the news might mean.

i'm not trying to imply that newsmen and women aren't entitled to their opinions. but the viewers trust that the information they are getting from someone who gets paid to put it out is accurate information. they don't see the need to differentiate between what is fact and opinion. if the talking head on tv said it, or it is written in a newspaper, and it sounds like a reasonable conclusion, they will most likely believe it..   a news outlet should report nothing but the facts and let the people think for themselves...

now, i'm not trying to say darrell is wrong. but, he can't possibly see into the future or know with any amount of certainty that his conclusion is accurate. and yes, I know that he was merely commenting on someone else article, but it doesn't matter. his name and his face are associated with delivering "news". any comment he makes without, or sometimes despite explicitely stating that this is merely his speculation will be taken as true and shape the opinions of those who read it.. which i feel is downright wrong and borderline exploitative..

and yes, i'm well aware of the historical op-ed pieces and the signifigance they had in shaping this country.. but in todays world of glenn beck, rush limbaugh, o'reilly, maddow, olberman, et cetera, all telling us what happened followed with what we should think about it and why those who think differently are crazy.... it's become a serious problem and it needs to be addressed..

I heard that the lawyers support Gifford to be prosecutor because he will press charges on every crime and everyone will have to hire lawyers to defend them.

The Mirror
In a brief meeting on March 11, the Pulaski County Commission reviewed the county’s general revenue and road and bridge budgets, and also discussed personnel matters in closed session.
Eastern District Commissioner Bill Farnham said that earlier this week, someone was caught taking gravel from piles left on Texas Road. The gravel was left along the road in order to fill in potholes after gravel has been knocked out the holes by traffic.
Farnham said a resident noticed the person loading the gravel onto their vehicle. The sheriff’s department arrrived in time and caught the person loading the gravel.
After consultation with the district’s road foreman, the person put the gravel back.

Does anyone else feel like this guy was just getting some gravel to fill the pot holes in front of his home because the county doesn't seem to have the time to spread it on the roads so they just dump it beside the road??
