Man!!  People are pretty  &^&**( at the DG site!!!  Slander and rumors are all over the place.  Day 1 of the race has been rather exciting...Whoever said this race was going to be ugly was making a severe understatement!!!

I saw it also.  Man - is it me or have there been more traffic accidents this year than normal.  It sure seems like we've had an awful lot.

Please - do not get angry or take this wrong.  I just want someone to explain to me why going door to door makes so much of a difference.  In my personal experience, they will all go door to door if the opportunity arises during election time, but that will not be the case after the election is over.  Suddenly, their door to door thing becomes a closed door...they are busy doing the job they were elected to do.  Now next election comes along, and the incumbant is actively doing their job, but some other guy is retired and has nothing better to do but go door to door.  So the encumbant loses the election because he didn't go door to door.  It's a vicious cycle.
We have been given the luxury of choosing between two individuals who have both been in this position before.  I believe that rather than picking someone because he showed up at my door wanting my vote, that we should get some facts together about each candidate during their tenure as Sheriff.  Once I see that...then I will make my decision.

I don't know about the skid mark length or anything.  All I know is just as I was driving over it this afternoon, some jacka$$ pulled out in front of me in the same spot.  People just don't pay attention sometimes.  I know I'm kind of guilty of it myself, but not when I'm pulling out of a drive into oncoming traffic for pete's sake!  That's a bad hill I guess...

I agree...of course I thought Bill would blow JT out of the water and that didn't happen.  What a shame.  I'm just shocked... :o

I can't go until I get off work!  What an exciting evening this will be.  I'm kind of a nerd on this stuff as I will sit up half the night to see the outcomes on the races!

I'm going to have to really start posting more so I can get caught up with you!  I wanna be a prattler, too!!

My husband was out that way about an hour ago and it was still all blocked off.  He said it looked like they were doing reconstruction/investigation...measuring tire tracks and what not.

I was coming home from the same location as Biker, and live down Y Hwy, so I was taking the side road home.  I didn't notice until after I turned down that road that there were police cars everywhere, and some really nice (not) SRPD Officer stopped the guy in front of me, and had him turn around in this parking lot to go back from where we came from.  I was going to just follow that guy and turn around, but the officer stops me.  "Where are you going, ma'am?" to which I replied "Home".  "And where is that?" like I'm lying or some freaking criminal.  I told him Y highway.  So he says, "You need to turn your vehicle around and take the next exit." with this really nasty tone as if I had purposely come down there to ruin his evening or something.  He just turns around and walks off, so I yell "Thank you, Sir." and turn around.  There was no reason for him to be so nasty to me.  It's not the words he said, but the tone he used.  For a second I thought they were having a DWI check point the way he was acting.

Sorry, I got off subject kind of, but it really ticked me off.  I don't know what was going on, but I assumed it was a vehicle accident.  Once I was back on the interstate, I saw a tow truck heading that direction.

He is one of my CJAD instructors, too.  I hope PCSD is able to update the community soon as to his condition.  It was like the big story happened, and then no info - as if the whole issue just dropped out of site and out of mind.  I'm glad that some of us are still voicing concern.

Pulaski Enquirer / Re: FAIR

We had a good time at the fair this year.  There were more rides, I thought than in previous years, and the armband for $10 for the rides was great.  The rodeo seemed to be a great draw as well.  I hope in the end that the fair was successful.  I know we enjoyed it!

LOL That is one of many reasons why I will never own a cat.

Why do you say that?  Do you know something about the situation we don't know, or are you just making this assumption based on prior experiences we have seen thus far from the prosecutor's office?

Restaurant Opinion / Re: Taco Bell
« on: May 25, 2008, 06:34:43 PM »
Went to Taco Bell on Friday.  The drive thru was full and I had a big order for the whole family so I went inside.  It took me almost 45 minutes to get my order.  I'm not really complaining too much about that because there was a lot of people in there and my order was big.  What was interesting was watching the fiasco going on.  Almost every person that picked up their order before me had something missing from their order.  I also had something missing from mine and they made it real quick and gave it to me.  I heard the manage say at that point, "We need to do something about these's now showing all the order on them."  After looking over my receipt I found the problem was not the monitors, but the woman, who was not a teenager, who was taking the orders as the missing item had not even been rung up.  The food was fine and no complaints there.

We're supposed to have ours by tomorrow.  I'm in no rush as I'm stashing it away for vacation anyway.

This sounds like something that would happen on Reno 911!

I was there about 30 minutes ago.  I had to refresh it a couple of times to get into it.  I just got in again after refreshing a few times.  It seems to be running REALLY slow, although it could be my connection.

LOL - Well, it would be easy to just blame Hitler, but I'm sure that's not it.  The only reason I mentioned Hitler was because Columbine happened the day before and I remember some reporter at one time saying that they wanted to do it the next day, the 20th because that was Hitlers birthday, but something happened where they ended up having to fulfill their plan a day early.

My daughters birthday is April 19, and it seems like nearly every year since she was born some catastrophic event happens either that week or on her birthday.  I believe it is close to Adolf Hitler's birthday or something and that may have something to do with it.  But just off the top of my head, there was Columbine, the FBI tearing into the Davidian Ranch in Waco, TX, the Oklahoma city bombing, and last year the Johnson Space Center Shooting and Virginia Tech shootings. There's something about that week...

You can get the buffet and a drink for $7.99 + tax.  I'm glad they're back.  I sure missed it!!!  I like it better in that building too.  There's more room and the atmosphere is really neat in that building.

My husband called me right after it happened and before the police got there.  He just called to let me know that he would be able to get milk at Mobile for me today as someone had literally driven into the store.  I just hope no one was hurt too badly.  He said the ambulance was up there a few minutes later.  Has anyone heard about injuries?

I agree.  If other families who have lived in Pulaski County for decades, like my family, want to put in something to honor their family or loved ones, can't we look at putting benches in the park, or putting up other small monuments?  If anyone deserves a bench memorial on the courthouse square it is Eber Cude.
