  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Emer Service Radio Communications Needed

I had a conversation with a Mr. King with ATT, regarding our county's need for towers to put antennas on.  He is going to pass it on to others in his company.  He gave me contact numbers for two other cell phone companies.  He also suggested we contact our local electric provider and see if they would be willing to put antennas on any of their existing towers, or poles.

If this could be done, would it help solve the radio dead stop issues?

I have a friend that one of the phone companies pay monthly to put a cell phone tower on his land. I don't know much about it . I know that he just renogiated his contract though and got more money. It isn't in Pulaski county though.

from what I understand they normally lease the land to put a cell phone tower up on.  If they add any other antenna to it, they charge a rental fee and electricity fee.  I am trying to get them to put up a tower on land that would be leased for practically nothing, if they would be willing to put the extra antenna on it for free. 

We have landowners out here in Big Piney who would be willing to do this.  I am sure there are other people in other areas of our county who would also be willing to do this if it would improve emergency communications in their areas.

Oh no sweetie, your posts help alot, maybe the phone company where your friend is at would be willing to put up an emergency tower on it for free, it never hurts to tell everyone and then ask......

Pulaski POST is also putting on a Fundraising Golf Tournament and karaoke contest in May to raise money for new radios for the sheriff's department.  If you want information about it, just PM me and I'll get you everything you need.

I have heard from Lois today by phone and she has alot of information to discuss with me that she has learned at this Missouri Wide meeting by the Lake concerning the radios we are raising money for.....She should be back tomorrow afternoon and we will be discussing some new things on the board soon......stay tuned.....and keep smiling.......

I believe the Department of Homeland Security provides grants for emergency communications.  That's an area the Sheriff's Dept could look into.  Grants are free money and sometimes free equipment.

If you need help filling out the grant applications I am sure we could find someone with experience to help with that.  I know you don't even have a secretary to assist you.
