Just so I'm clear on this. J.B. and J.T. will now run against each other and we vote in November along with the president?

JT also does not like female deputies.  Ooops....  Our females contribute so much to the department.  Half the jail staff is female, fulltime and reserve female deputies.  And they all do a fantastic job.

YT,
I hate to make JT sound good but I have to disagree about the female deputy thing.  He did hire 341.  But on the other hand, I will reapply if he wins, just so I can collect unemployment and my massive amount of comp time.

That is correct Mark.  As for Cowboy's comment....  >:( .  Either put up or shut up.  Tell us how LE has been ineffective.  the incumbent Governor has done a great job for this state.  I would have voted for him if he had run.  Let's just say Nixon is not what is good for the state now.

This tells me JB will have no problem this fall..
Before everyone congratulates JB, do some math.  2200 Democrats voted, only 1830 Republicans.  If most vote again along party lines, JB may be in trouble.

A lot of republicans vote Democrat in the Primary, go back and look at the history, it is always that way, makes no difference come Fall. JB Won by 1000 votes against JT from my recolection.. Smart people don't vote the party line.

Total votes show how interesting it may be also.

J.T. Roberts    1122
Bill Anderson   1077
J.B. King         1073

Where are Bill's votes going to go?

Who will the Presidential voters that didn't vote today go for?

Rick, I couldn't disagree with you more.  First, what history do you have that tells you that a lot of Republicans vote Democratic in the primary?  Why would anyone do that?  Second, JB won 4 years ago because people were tired of JT's BS.  Now that we have 4 years of JB to use as reference, I think things are much more open.  There are an awful lot of people who would disagree with your last statement.  I am a died in the wool Republican, and I have regretted every single Democratic vote I ever cast, case in point, Bill Ransdall.

I vote either way in the primary depending on whether or not there is a candidate I want to see beaten before Nov. I don't see anything wrong with that. I agree with Rick and even though I tend to lean toward Republican I'm a smart voter and I vote to choose the lesser evil.

I like to think of myself as a Republican, but I could easily be swayed of late..  OK, how about this, I think that a lot of people voted for JT to take the wind out of the sails of Anderson, and those same people will vote for JB in the General Election.. JT could have won simply based on his names similarity to JB's, and the fact that Andersons name wasn't as well known as a candidate for office.

What I was saying about the results in the past of people voting Democrat in the primary, is, in my opinion, a well known fact.. Look at the numbers in the last election primary and compare them to the outcome..

Did anyone else hear about "Operation Chaos" on the national level this Spring?   "Basic premise I heard on the news -- Ok you republicans, go and register democrat for your state primary, vote for XXXXXXX  as they are less likely to be able to defeat McCain in November.  That way we will knock OOOOOOO out of the race.  Then in November, be sure and vote for McCain.
For this reason a lot of states are now starting to check your registration (voter) to be sure that  you vote in the proper primary.  I was very surprised yesterday when the lady at the poll asked my which ballot I wanted - Course I was also surprised when a certain candidate for Sheriffs resentative walked right up to the door to hand me one of his candidates cards -- guess he was too young to know better.

It all depends what your main thing to vote for was. I wanted to see Sarah Steeman for Governor, so I took a republican ticket because i don't want to see either of the other candidates in there, both are corrupt in my mind

Personally, I would prefer not to proclaim Republican or Democrat in the primary.  I would just as soon be able to vote for who I think is best regardless of affiliation.  Regardless of what I do in the primary, I can and will vote the way I want in the General election.  They can check all they want.

I think it is safe to say congrats on yor up coming win in November JB.

Personally out of the two canidates for sheffif, one of them is a politcian. I've seen him out in our neck of the woods talking to area residents, Asking for votes. Asking for there opionion on whats needs changed, and what he will do to change if he was sheriff. And the other Well I haven't seen him once asking for voters to keep him in his postion. I haven't seen him campiagn much at all.  I for one am leaning towards the one with better communication with the resident's, the one who goes door to door. Asking about residents and there opinons.... Just my 2 cents...

Might want to check your facts.   I wondered the other day when you said something about how bad JT lost.   It was more llike 200 votes not 1000

Please - do not get angry or take this wrong.  I just want someone to explain to me why going door to door makes so much of a difference.  In my personal experience, they will all go door to door if the opportunity arises during election time, but that will not be the case after the election is over.  Suddenly, their door to door thing becomes a closed door...they are busy doing the job they were elected to do.  Now next election comes along, and the incumbant is actively doing their job, but some other guy is retired and has nothing better to do but go door to door.  So the encumbant loses the election because he didn't go door to door.  It's a vicious cycle.

We have been given the luxury of choosing between two individuals who have both been in this position before.  I believe that rather than picking someone because he showed up at my door wanting my vote, that we should get some facts together about each candidate during their tenure as Sheriff.  Once I see that...then I will make my decision.

If you look at your voter card no where does it have a party affiliation.   I always vote demo in primary  but vote for the republicans in the fall on a national basis.  On the local sceen I vote for the best person -- this year it will be all democrates.

Again that was just my 2 cents. I agree with your statement, We have all experienced both Jt and Jb and office, I know a few people that voted for anderson, because they didn't want ethier back in office. But now that it's between the two there vote is going for JT because if they vote JB There won't be any change that is needed...

I could care less if they come door to door.  Both the current candidates have been to my house already.  One of them brought a sign I asked for.  As for voting a democratic ticket, well I am not going to vote for those wanting higher taxes nor for other socialist activities.  Voting for somone like Ransdall who talks out both sides of his mouth is no good.  They make promises they cannot possibly hope to keep.  I don't vote a straight ticket at any time.  Cowboy, if Nixon gets in office, be prepared for tax and spend, even though we had a surplus in this state this last year. the last time we had a democrat in that office and a democrat as our representative (One Term Bob and Ransdall), they left us with an $8 Billion deficit in the state budget.
