What's the new name?
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

Dress code killed it for me. If we are out riding, and bar hoping, none of us will be able to go.
Considering how we used to pack Shenanigans, and spend money.... oh well.
I know we look rough, but we also spend $100-$200 apiece when we do go out.

I was unable to read the word for dresscode, the font is to small. Why in the hell would they have a dress code in this area? As long has people have shirt, pants & shoes on then they should be allowed in. Is shenigans still open? I love that place! So what exactly is the dress code?

Jeeze, this is not a redneck friendly bar. No baseball caps? What a Cards fan and a Cubs fan might start a brawl? Well, that could happen, but only if the Cub fan deserved it.
I have it on good authority that the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about.

I can understand the ripped or torn clothing and even the flip flops, i dont want my toes getting stepped on. I dont see anything wrong with people wearing baseball caps, alot of men wear them. I could see if they had a problem with the hats getting stolen but to totally ban it is silly. They're not as bad as i thought they were, i have been around clubs in vegas where you cant wear jeans or tennis shoes, and no regular tshirts (must have a collar, for the men).  I just wonder why they even came up with the dress code?

This is fine in a large city where you have such a large population so you can pick a certain clientle, but this is rural missouri. You might be able to enforce it, but you will never get a large following here.
I really don't understand why people think you have to change something when it is not broke. I remember when the Rockin R used to be packed, and the age group that was catered to was 25-45. The place was packed, there was no parking, you had to park in the street if you got there late, and then suddenly, they changed the format. I was told by the owner he would rather have a younger crowd than us old timers. How much money does a 18-21 year old spend in a bar compared to a 35-50 year old?
Again, you can do that in a large population, but not here.

It is my understanding that the dress code is in place to detour gangs and/or gang friendly attire.  Go to one of the nicer clubs in Springfield and see what your greeted with.  I have been to clubs that won't let you in unless you have sleeves.

The new rules at Area 151 are very mild in comparrison to most dress-codes in other clubs.

I mean... come on.  Do you really want to hang out with these guys?

These rules are in place for safety as much as atmosphere.  You really do (and we HAVE thus far) weed out a lot of the problems when you instate a dress code.  The thugs no longer want to come into your business... which is fine by us.  Now... don't take any of this the wrong way.  Obviously not everyone who wears a cap or anything of the sort is a thug.  However we cannot expect one to abide by the rules only to allow someone else to slide by.

As I have already stated... Our dress-code isn't really very strict at all.  No hats.  No wife-beaters. No flip flops (safety reason i.e. broken glass).  Those are our main rules.

You can walk into Area 151 wearing a Metallica t-shirt, pair of jeans and biker boots.  Its really not that strict.

This is fine in a large city where you have such a large population so you can pick a certain clientle, but this is rural missouri. You might be able to enforce it, but you will never get a large following here.

You guys are asking too much!!! Seriously, no weapons or contraband? Come on. Last time I checked, we didn't live in communist Russia. Just kidding.

Seriously though, you can't wear ripped or torn clothing? What does this rule entail? Is it intended for Abercrombie and Hollister style jeans, or the early 90's grung torn knees jeans?

It pretty much just applies to really ratty, crappy clothing.  Meaning if you try to walk in wearing your work clothes with bleach all over the front of them or something, chances are your going to get turned away.

I was in there a while back and didn't even know there was a dress code. I wasn't expecting to go there - had just left a 4th of July party and got a call to stop there. It was packed, not really my thing but it was nice.
