  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

CAN YOU SPOT THE COPPERHEAD?
You will see this, this fall, when all the leaves drop on the
the privacy fence or the storage house and the underbrush gets crowded with leaves
and limbs. Be careful when you rake those fall leaves.
CAN YOU SPOT THE COPPERHEAD?

Probably not.

One of our little guys killed one a couple weeks ago.  He had never seen one before in real life.  His initial instinct was to grab a big stick and commence to woopin (he won).  We had to school him a bit on some of the dangers involved, but couldn't bring myself to I really lecturing him. LOL

Are we supposed to see more than usual this year with all the dampness?

You can usually smell them before you see them. I've heard they smell like pickles, or dillweed. Someone else has said cumcumber, or watermelon.

They tend to take shelter close to the ground under wood piles (not just firewood), etc.  The one the boys found was living comfortably under a large cardboard box we gave them to play in earlier this summer.  It had blow into the side yard next to pasture - out of site out of mind - until they rediscovered it.

My neighbor friend went to retrieve a folded tarp sitting on a
lawn tractor seat in one of their garages and was bitten-three sets of fang
punctures in one finger!  This was around early August.
She was already snake phobic before the copperhead hiding under the tarp latched on to her.
She got antibiotics in the ER.
Hey, it's just me, Suzi

they dont smell like dill or watermelon to me. i almost stepped on one when i was pregnant and i noticed it because it smelled like something was burnt my mom and older brother came up and killed it and was funny in a way (now not then) we all sniffed out 4 more of them and killed them. watch out because the old saying is true if you ever see 1 there is more around close by.
Go ahead and blame me....Everyone else does
