I understand crime is not new here, but we are getting alot of burglary reports and once again we need your help. These incidents are occuring in different parts of the county. Some are related. Houses, barns, cars, and construction trailers are being broken into. If anyone has any information please call the Sheriff's Department at 573-774-6196. You can leave a message for me with dispatch. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Regina

Also, BP had a bunch (approximately 50) movies stolen.  They have filed a police report but I thought if anybody on here knows of anybody who just happened to have gotten a bunch of new movies this weekend, (a little unusual to bring home 50 new movies) let the police know.  They were driving a burgundy older car.

Better have the serial numbers or otherwise nothing gets done. I know my brothers place and his land owners property wich are side by side were broken into sunday night. The made out with a car stereo equipment, speakers, subwoofer, a few hundred pounds of copper and my nieces chrome mini chopper (and this is unigue because they arent even popular anymore) my sister was told that if she didnt or couldnt find a seriel number there would be no reason to file a report.
I guess the criminals get away with it anymore and they have the upper hand. I know I now have a gun and I will be on the lookout. We have installed new and an extra outdoor lights and I wont be afraid to shoot! I hate a darn theif!!
And I will be darn if I live in my home afraid!! These people need to be cought and taught a dog gone lesson.
So... if anyone hears of a mini all chromend out chopper anywhere please let me know who and where.

For information,

If any item you does or does not have a serial number, make a mark in a place that will not be obvious. Identifying marks allows us to identify your property without serial numbers. You can engrave it, paint it, scratch it or something. This helps when looking in pawn shops or locating found property.

Which BP?  Helps to know which end of town to keep an ear out.

If your property does not have a serial number scratch a unique number into it.  Use the same number on all your property.  DO NOT use your Social Security Number.  We can enter stolen property into the NCIC (national crime database) with any number on it.  If there is no number then it can't be entered and there is little hope of recovering it.

The first thing someone should do when they purchase a high ticket item should be record the serial number in a safe place or 2.  Don't use your computer as the crooks will steal it and then you will be out your list!

I bought an alarm off of amazon.com for our shed. The shed sits away from the house . The alarm is
motion activated. I'm hoping it will at least wake me if anyone opens a window or door. They are
made for RVs and only cost about 50.00. I haven't received it yet but will let you all know how it
works. Anyone ever tried one of these alarms??

WOW!!! We received our alarm for the shed yesterday .We got it programed and installed ,nothing to
it.  It goes off as soon as the door or the window is opened(tested it out). It is so loud that you
can't stand to be in the shed when it goes off.  We can hear it clearly in the house. Now we are
armed ,have cameras on the driveway ,alarm on the house and the shed.

What is this world coming to? We didn't even lock the house or the cars just a couple years back.

We had to search to find a house key, because we used to never lock our house. Now, in the last several months, we don't go to bed without locking up, and just running to the store involves locking the house. I hate what has happened to our community...
I have it on good authority that the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about.
