He just thinks he is really special.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Remember that no matter how bad things are in your life, there are others dealing with much worse obstacles, and be thankful for what you have.

administrators, i think something may be wrong with the reputation heart thingy.  I tried to give Kari a reputation and it says i have to wait, but I haven't given any reputation points for a few days.

Kari, we can disagree on other issues but on the issue of Obama you are right in line with my thinking.  I wish you had started earlier and gotten your message out to the public.

That is just one of many things that is so wonderful about our Country.... we CAN voice our opinions!  We so take that freedom for granted. I do not expect everyone to agree with all or any of my opinions, nor I their's, and enjoy open, intelligent debate.   The important thing is we can voice our opinion, and agree to disagree.

I do not remember being this passionate about an election.  In 2004, I picked who, I thought, would best serve my Country's defense, though I didn't feel either candidate would chance really lowering our defenses.  I did not have the passion that I have with this election.  The questions that have not been answered, the questions that the media has not dared ask, tells me that things are being hidden.  The more research I do, the more aware I am that "all that is seen, is not so".  I've met too many "charismatic" people in my life that were self serving, and Obama has shown all of the same signs.  WE the PEOPLE have a right to ask questions, WE the PEOPLE have a right to learn the answers.

He must be nuts, because I happen to know that everyone warks 365 days a year so we won't cripple our economy, 366 on leap years.

I personally also work an extra 30 days per year whenever possible to make up for the 30 people I know who are so anti-American that they take Christmas off.

Why do you want to be so hateful.

Thank you for your pearls of wisdom that you've, once again, bestowed upon us...... Obama's wisdom of everyone taking the day off to vote just seems to go way over my head.....

How is that so bad?

One day off to vote.

You know in some countries voting is considered so important that it is MANDATORY and you are fined if you odn't vote?

Many countries also have voting holidays, because they understand how important it is.

Its not like everyone who takes the day off is going to be shot in the head as soon as they cast their ballot, or if they refuse to take the full day off be forced to drink the kool aid.

Some may even choose, that's right, CHOOSE to work that day, or to go back to work, or to provide emergency care to those who need it, to allow for necessary functions (like Wal-Mart) to remain open.

Taking statements to their most illogical conclusion just because you can doesn't make you smart.

The person who suggested that EVERYONE take the day off to vote is running for President!  You would think he would be a tad more careful in the words he uses!

He hasn't so far.  Why change now?  Ummm, uhhh, errr.  I digress.
"In order to be a leader of men, a man has to receive an education in his own country, among his own people, and to grow up in surroundings steeped with the traditions and psychology of his countrymen.  Not only did Western education not fulfill that condition, but it tended to wean a young man from the traditions and customs of his country."

I can't take the day off to vote.  I will vote, but then need to get to work.  Patients are not going to take the day off from their appointments for election day.  Obama just wants things HIS way.  Once President, if elected, he may want us to take His birthday in His honor too.  there goes some reputation for me too.  Each time I diss the great one, it seems to happen.  Too bad I guess.  I am having too much fun to stop and it is soooo hard sometimes to keep from dissing him.  He is so vulnerable to it. $%$#@%^

Than maybe I took it the wrong way, I know a lot of people are out of work and not because they want to be, things are bad out there and they are going to get worst before they get better I just hope everyone can hang on. Sorry I hurt your feeling igahmah.

When I see that comment or make it myself, I am aiming toward those having no desire to work.  Not to those currently unemployed as a result of the economy or other reasons.    those seeking work are not included in my way of thinking.  I spoke with a representative of the State Employment Office yesterday.  He told me unemployment is getting worse here in Missouri.  And it will get worse before it gets better.

matrsnot I know how you think, I read all your post and most of the time I can and do agree with you, the remark made by igahmah was "Most of them don't have jobs anyway....." and to me it was a hateful remark maybe I am wrong I don't know. I thank God each and every day that I do have a job and I can help a few others who don't have jobs right now, my mom always told me that what goes around comes around so I try to life my life the best way I can soooo when it comes around it's not so bad. I did tell igahmah I was sorry I hurt her feeling.

Thanks.  I just wanted to clear it up on my side is all.  I once worked for DFS and know for a fact that many looked at welfare as their right.  they didn't always use it to get a job.  Some wanted only to milk the system for all they could get.  THere were some that did not qualify under the rules set forth and many times they were the ones needing it most.  Broke my heart.

In DC, the welfare recipients called it "getting paid."  Would say, "well I'd like to buy it now, but I don't get paid until Friday."  Like they have a job.

Think of what it would do to the oil industry if the United States stopped usage for just one day!!!  :th_thmuwahaha-1:
