  • nursejdavis: I am looking for a few Press Releases from Kevin Hillman that have disappeared.... not sure why they would be hidden from the public unless they contain narcs who have gotten their charges dropped for their cooperation. Seems the same Press Releases were also deleted from Facebook. Thanks for any help in locating these

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Do any of you really listen to the Robo calls.  I hang up as soon as I hear it is a recording.  I just wondered if anyone listened and why the candidates waste their money.
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

Igahmah....you make a great point...if you are answering the calls that means you are probably getting them in the evening.  I don't know why people do that, it is by far the least effective of any type of robo call.

The few times I have used them, I always instruct the company to do the calls between 9:30am and noon, then from 1:30pm and 4:30pm.  I don't want you to answer the phone, I want your answering machine.  It is a proven fact that if you get the call on the phone, you will hang up almost all of the time, if you press play on the answering machine, there is about an 80% better chance you will listen before hitting delete.  I also normally have somewhere in the message that the reason we are calling during the day is to not bug you during supper time, because we don't like that either.  I had my daughter do my last call, I have people that actually tell me after 2 years that it is still on their machine, they thought it was cute.

As far as wasting money, they are dirt cheap when they are recorded.  If I remember right, the last time we did calls to likely voters that were Hard Republican, Soft Republican, Independent, and Soft Democrats, about 13,000 calls and it was less than 225.00.

I have supported legislation that says political calls in MO has to be a live person, for two reasons.  First, they are much more expensive so there would be less of them (but still does not kill the candidate's 1st Amendment Rights) and second...so you can tell a live person what you think of them calling...LOL.

Anyway, just thought you might like the info.

I should do Robo calls to get people to sign up to ring the Bells for the Salvation Army.  How about you Rep. Day.  Call me or e-mail me to sign up.

I am so surprised that more people don't sign up to do it.
85% of the money raised in Pulaski County will stay in Pulaski County to help your neighbors pay the upcoming high gas bills, electric bills, money for gas to go to Dr. appointments.  The same people sign up every year.  And though I appreciate those people and am happy they do, I am dissappointed in the disinterest of the rest of the population.

Well, I don't have your e-mail that I know of nor your number.  I have rang the bell in the past, the Salvation Army is one of the best groups in the nation in my opinion.

If you would, call Angie at 573.751.1446 and she will get me scheduled.  I don't know what I am doing from one day to the next, but she does....LOL.

Just give her a call, she is normally in the office Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 3:30pm until the first of the year when we go back to session hours.

BTW, I didn't ring the bell last year, I was never asked and didn't know who to contact.

Well, being a hopeful politican, I do have a picture of doing it in the past, so either way, I am forgiven....LOL.

Hopefully we can get a picture, I love to promote groups like the Salvation Army.

BTW...Folks, I will try to remember to post when I am ringing, I would love to meet you guys/gals that I don't know other than on here.
