I was just telling Sherri when I was a kid we have a house of ill repute called 4 Corners where St. Robert Glass is now.. The had gun fights there etc.. From recollection there were cars on Missouri Avenue hit with bullets in the gun fight between the black pimps from St. Louis and the Local 4 Corners owner Bob Carson and his men.

Well, the funny part was when we were kids we called the place and asked how much for some sex, and they replied, sir we rent BBQ grills and sell charcoal. So that's how we first learned of what exactly it was they did there.. Or so they said.. LOL

My husband and I passed by on the Spur during that gun fight. The cops weren't even stopping traffic. Also one night while we were at the drive-in, a guy started shooting from the balcony of there into the drive-in. Someone (maybe an off duty cop, can't remember) jumped out of his car and returned fire. Fun times back then....and scary..

I have a St. Louis newspaper article at the church that covers all that gangster stuff that was going on.  I remember some of the players, Bob Carson, ReRe others I remember when I read the names but they aren't coming to my head right now.  I always thought four corners was down behind where the bus station is now.  What was the name of that club?  I think it was more of a whore house but it was a club too.  I think it was where the black pimp worked his women from.  What was the name of it?

The Black and White Club was back there, and a little further down the spur and off the road was the Red Door. They were both whorehouses and clubs.

Birdland wasn't a whore house was it?  I hope not cause I went there when a guy I was dating was the DJ.  I do remember the guy who owned it got killed in the trailer next door to the club.

That's not to say it wasn't a club also. I have been to Birdland and the Red Door both. You could go in and have a drink. They just had other entertainment available for their clientele

There was never more than 5 or 6 people there when I went there I couldn't figure our why they even had a DJ.  This was in 76 or 77.

I don't know where they kept the women hidden because I swear to God (and I am now a Christian woman) I never ever saw anything that looked suspicious out there.  Is that why Roger got killed?  Did it have something to do with pimping.  He had even been to my house for dinner because he was a friend of my boyfriend at the time who was definately not into pimping, he was a SFC in the army.
