I'm sorry, this is going to sound so cliché(ish).... I would not change one thing.  All that I have gone through, all I have suffered with, all that I have enjoyed, everything... made me who I am, and I'm happy with who I am.

Oh ya, major meds. I actually love my meds, cause I've seen what i've been like when I'm off them. Your son is probibly stuck in the manic mode like I'm stuck in depressed.

Same here. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I think with age and experience we all look back and think we could have or should have done some things differently.  I just don't believe in dwelling on the past.  Each day is a new begining in our lives.  What we do with it is up to us.  For me, I try to make a difference in someone's life.  Even if that difference is just putting a smile on the face of the clerk at the store with a friendly word.

I will be honest. I would do a lot of things different.
I would have treated my mom and dad better.
Not have gotten married at 19
Spent more time with my kids.
Went to college earlier.
Told my kids that I loved them more
Taken better care of myself
Not have taken certain jobs just because I needed the money.
I could go on and on.................

Yeah, I have a few (million) regrets, but I have learned to let them go. If I spend my time with one leg in the past, worrying about everything I did wrong yesterday, and the other leg in the future, obsessing about what could go wrong, I end up pi$$ing all over today! And TODAY is all I have to really live in!
Everything I did in the past brought me to where I am today, and I really, really like today. I love my wife and I love my kids -- and hers -- even though they don't always listen to me. I absolutely adore my grandsons. Their hugs can keep me going for days! I love my extended family, including my in-laws. I can't say I love my job, but it seems to be exactly what I need today. God has used my past to bless me today, so I thank Him today for everything that has brought me to this point, even my stupid mistakes.
If, like me, you have a checkered and uneven past, let it go. Forgive yourself and make the best of your life today.
(OK, you hardcore self-abusers have 5 more seconds to flagellate yourself ... Now get to livin'!)

I don't think that I would change anything. I would like to be more patient, but I am learning that as life goes on.

I would not change a thing, because if I did, I would not have all the friends, and memories that I do now. Even the bad times give you good memories. Plus good conversation topics at parties.
