  • Lepard LLC: Why so long before it comes online? 911 took out a loan or bond with the known guarantee payment and began building..

  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: You mean that tax that the Commissioners would not put on the ballot for so many years? Strange things happened when the citizens got a chance to vote on that issue.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: sorry about the typos still working with just one arm in action
    April 13, 2016, 01:10:42 PM
  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

  • Lepard LLC: Gene Newkirk Rick I have waited for a Sheriff to bring it to me on what he wanted. I have pushed Mr long for a while to get it to me. He told me he was close to having or done. Now hopefully the people will get to decide on it. I spoke with Steve about this a few times.

I've asked a couple times but get insulted.  Does anyone have an answer?  Maybe there is a big dark hole that all the money disappears in to.

Speaking for the Freedom of Road Riders ONLY it depends upon our event

May 5th Motorcycle Awareness Poker Run:Proceeds go to our Motorcycle Safety Program

Memorial Day Rally: Proceeds go to Freedom Of Road Riders, for legislative costs, safety programs, and operating cost to keep the organization running. Also proceeds from the alcohol and vendor sales goes to the Shrine Children Hospital

Sept Poker Run: Motorcycle Safety again, unless there is some crisis going on, like last year all the proceeds went to Hurricane Katrina

Halloween Benefit- All proceeds go to the Shrine Children Hospital

Toys for Kids- Children charities in Pulaski County

Now, with all that said, we are NOT a charity organization, we are a motorcycle rights legislative organization, promoting motorcycle rights, awareness and safety, and most of all the money we take in is naturally used for such. There are 35+ locals through out the state of Missouri, with around 3000 members in the organization.

Like I said, I am new to the area and want to thank you for the information you have provided.  Not everyone is so forthcoming with that answer.  I guess some things are not meant to be discussed in a public forum.  How can one become a member of Freedom of Road Riders?

You can go to http://home.earthlink.net/~local28/ which is our local web site, and there is a membership form, or you can go to http://www.forr.net/ which is the main website of the organization. You can look around and see if there are any other locals you would like to join, and learn more about the organization as a whole.

We meet the first Friday of Every Month at the Pulaski County Shrine Club in Buckhorn (exit 153 off of I44) at 7pm. Any one and every one is welcome to come to the meeting. I tell everyone it is a good idea to see a meeting to see what we are all about. If you do decide to join, it cost $25 per year, with this you get a monthly news letter, a $2000 accident death insurance, plus discounts at other MRO events,

Also, if you would like to just receive emails from us about what is going on, send an email to local28@earthlink.net, and request to be on the email roster.

Hope to meet you sometime Taz

Depends on which fund raiser you are talking about sweetie......

Watson and Law101 are putting on a fund raiser during Frog Fest to help support the Pulaski County Sheriff Department, it should be obvious where the money is going to go....to buy as many radios as possible for the Sheriff cars......

My yard sale, is raising money to go toward the Pulaski County Sheriff Department to buy some more radios to put in the Sheriff cars...what else do you want to know....

Pulaski P.O.S.T. (providing officer support together), a non-profit organization, is putting on the golf tournament in May, the proceeds of that will go to the Sheriff's department for new radios.
