I also noticed it! looks great! People from shananigans, i believe are running it. The building next door is getting work done to it as well! Will be nice to drive home at night to some lite up businesses unstead of darkness!

It would be nice to have a place to go get a drink and talk to friend without the loud dj music to shout over.  Doesn't look big enough to have a dj or dance floor so hopefully this will be that type of place.

The Drynk will be a great little place to get a beverage afterwork. It is owned by Jake and Ursula from Area 151, Ramada and Shenanigans. Ursulas plan is to have it very similar to a Martini bar with lots of drink choices as well as numerous international beers on tap. There will also be a small grill that will serve the typical bar foods. Its another great additional to the Waynesville Square area. They were hoping to get it opened before Summer Jam on 30 May but with crappy weather it kind of pushed back the date. But they will be up a running this summer and shows that Waynesville is slowly making the much needed recovery downtown. Caffe` Italia, Sedas, Paradox Studios & Gallery, Eircils Jewelry, Hair on the Square, Route 66 music, Paradise Deli is just a start....now we just need some new retail!!!! But with businesses coming in its up to us to support them in this difficult economy. Thanks in advance Waynesville!!

I'd say it got brought up because someone else was mentioning different business on or around the square.

Hmm, jmo, but Steve's Place is not a shining example of improving the down town area.  Looks more like a cinder block shack.

I don't think a martini bar is going to do much in waynesville, most bartenders around here don't even know how to make a martini. Sounds similiar to what the area 151 lounge was suppose to be like ?

Lots of places for the police to hide and catch people leaving after a couple of drynks.  No one will want to spend much time there.
....and that night as the moon crossed the mountain, one more Coyote was heard...

Actually it is just the right thing at the right place. It is right next to the playhouse theater, so adults can go to watch a play then have a drink afterwards. It is a small establishment so it does not need hundreds of people to survive. It has a small menu so it is not just a corner bar, it has a european feel to it, so it is more of a social spot than a bar to go party.
As far as the cops hiding, well, I go to many a bar, and don't get drunk. You don't have to drink until you can think straight and you don't have to be drunk to have fun in a bar.
A little class in this community won't hurt either.

It's not how many drinks you have, it's what your blood alcohol is and a couple glasses of wine will put you over.

I dont think cops are gonna sit there and watch people going in and out just to get a DWI. For one...thats illegal and wont hold in court. Two there is already a bar a hundred feet away and its been there forever.

This place looks cozy and it looks like it will have a nice friendly and inviting environment. If its open while im still here, i would go there with a couple friends to enjoy a drink or two.

Any word on when it will open??

Of course they will, some ppl dont have the mentallity to limit themselves on how much they drink.  If you know you cant handle two drinks then dont drink two.  Do as friends of mine, have someone go as a sober chauffer then they dont have to worry about it.  As taz said you can go to a bar and have fun without drinking

so if its like that at all the busy clubs how did somebody pull out of Peppers the wrong way.  They serve alcohol there, looks like the cops should have been there watching.

I don't think they will watch the Drink any better than they do anyplace else.  If you don't get drunk you don't have to worry about it.

because it was only 10. they do it at closing, or always did back in the day.

If a cop sits there and watches you leave and proceeds to follow you and either he says it or a witness sees it, i cant think of the word it is but it will get thrown out of court. Seen it happen a few times. If you are worried and you see a cop sitting there watching, take a camera or use your phone and snap a pic. I will put money on it. Man...what is that word...
