Wait when Obama orders the cabinet to save $100 million, you cry because it's too little, but when $2.5 million is spent over 5 years the tears can't be stopped?

one half of one percent is sure a great savings.  who the hell cares what whores in China drink or how much?  What does it matter and why are they gratutiously spending money on it to start with.  Of course maybe some research is in order to find out who is really benefitting financially and wha thteir relationship os to certain members of congress?

Follow the money trail and you will find that some congress man's or woman's brother, mother, father, sister or good friend heads up the company that received the grant to study hookers in China. All I want to know is are they looking for any volunteers to get first hand information?

Maynard ready for a ROAD trip?

Who do you think Bush went to, besides his buddies in Saudi Arabia, to fund the 8 years he was in office and Iraq?

China.

Program approved in November, 2008.

Hmmm payback indeed.

This like so many other grants passed out in America, that are useless and has no practical purpose. It is in fact just another way to line the fat cats pockets. I certainly hope you folks don't think Washington has changed since Bush left town, it is just a different bunch of theives. The cardinals have lost two in a row to the pirates, maybe it's Bush's fault. Just a thought.

One early indicator of Obama's stance on science has been his stimulus bill, which underpinned his rhetoric with cash. The final version funnels $21.5 billion to research and development funds, according to estimates by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. That's welcome relief for the science community, which has seen federal funding slide in recent years. In the 2008 fiscal year, the government allocated $3.5 billion less to research and development than in 2007. "In a stimulus bill, which is so focused on short-term economic recovery, it's surprising and gratifying to see R&D investments, which are traditionally regarded as long-term investments[/] , have such a prominent place," says Kei Koizumi, former director of AAAS's R&D Budget and Policy program.
One agency that particularly benefits from the windfall is the National Institutes of Health. At $10.4 billion, the provision going to NIH equals more than a third of its 2008 budget. Much of the boon came from Republican Sen. Arlen Specter, who fought for a $10 billion amendment to the stimulus bill for NIH funding in exchange for his vote. Long an advocate for the agency, he led the campaign to double NIH funding over five years, until 2003. Since then, however, NIH funding had flattened.

Total waste of money- and here I thought most of the stimulus bill went to business thieves.

Yes, and now Sen. Spector has become a democrat, and i bet that had a part in the way he voted for the stimulus bill as well

The term kathoey or katoey (Thai: กะเทย, IPA: [kaʔtʰɤːj]) generally refers to a male-to-female transgender person or an effeminate gay male in Thailand.

Perhaps certain congress critters want to know what they are up against (pun intended) when they visit these far away foreign lands.  That could be a reason for these studies of prostitutes in other countries.

Send Rush and his male buddies over, they have the Viagra prescribed in someone else's name, the private charter jet and a twinkling in their eye for sex tourism in the #1 sex with underage boys capital of the world.

Heck, I'm sure they'd do it for free!

I am sure the liberals could figure out how some whores got HIV.  If they can't, then they need to leave office.  Both men and women.  they don't need to squander tax money on this kind of tripe.  They squander enough by taking a paycheck for stealing tax dollars as it is.

They have the money to pay for it themselves, they have the Viagra prescribed in someone else's name, and they go trolling worldwide for the best places to have sex with little boys.

Heck, throw in a good drug study, The Effects of Having Your Maid Score Hillbilly Heroin on a Rich Guys Ears.

Might want to send Reid and Pelosi on that junket.  They would both be very happy I am sure.  Picking on Rush is your thing.  I don't care about him, nor do I listen to his diatribe.  it is the dems who are aquandering money right and left in an orgasmic frenzy.  Too bad we can't hold them fully accountable for their theft.  Bush did what he felt was right in protecting this country, regardless of opinion polls.  Obama cares only that he remain popular and thus probably will continue to endanger the security of the country.
