The last time we were at six flags was when my son entered the service and wanted me to ride all the rides with him before he left for duty.
And I did_________ My last time on any ride!! :th_thbarfkiss1-1:

That same day one of the overhead gondolas came loose and killed a lady :crying:
That ruined the day for everyone.
Now days the closest thing to a thrill ride for us is highway 98 at 4 pm__________ thats like being on bumper cars.
And during spring break LOOK OUT~~ :anger: %%$%$$# ^^^%%%

They have done a pretty good turn around in the last few years but the new management team just got too much debt with the company, over a billion dollars.  Last year had record numbers but again, just too much debt when you consider the amount of interest that has to be paid.  They have not had a year with profit since I believe 98, that is why of the restructuring and new management team about 4 or 5 years ago.

They did say nobody would be let go, hours the same, etc... so I suspect most folks that didn't watch the news will ever know anything happened.

Can't wait to see what my stock in it does tomorrow....lol.  Oh well, it will come back and honestly I will probably buy some more stock in the morning if it takes a nose dive.  Should be interesting to watch.

Ya know if the tickets weren't $29 a person to get in the gate they would have more people there.

While that is a lot of money, not bad when you hold them up to other parks, even a few in MO.

One Day General Admission for Silver Dollar City - $50.00
One Day General Admission for Dollywood - $53.50
One Day General Admission for Disney World - $75.00
Sea World - Orlando - One Day Admission - $74.95
Bush Gardens - Tampa - One Day Admission - $69.95
Worlds of Fun - K.C. - One Day Admission - $39.99

Costs too much to go anywhere.

It may not seem bad to some, but few people I know could afford to take their family there. Seems a shame to have to save up for a trip to an amusement park.

I was wrong it's 39.00.

Wow SDC has doubled their price since I first moved here. My word, I guess we've been spoiled because we always get season passes to all the parks as a Christmas present from a friend.

I just wish these places would realize that it's normally families that go there.  If they would make them more affordable to the "average" family then they would go there more often.

As much as i would like to agree with you about that, i also understand that it cost these parks more to operate as well.  So like everything else prices have to go up

This season if you go to Six Flags website you can buy adult tickets for 31.00 or so:  http://www.sixflags.com/stLouis/tickets/index.aspx.  At the gate it is more.  Of course, like all of the parks now you also pay for parking.  This spring I think at SDC with season passes we paid 15.00 for parking.

Yep, SDC has gone up a bunch, it was the best bargin in the state for a long time.

You only have to pay for parking if you want premium parking though right?  It's always been that way.  We've not been this season yet.

Was a gondala that went above and across the park so you could get different views of the park,

I think that is right, there are two or three levels of paid parking and then free parking in the rear.  If you have not been there yet, they have changed it BIG TIME, easier to get in and out with new roads and parking lots.  We paid for the parking because of it being early and going back and forth to the car with coats, etc...

I think you can get tickets cheaper at some of the local banks.  We bought a season pass a couple years ago and it was really worth the money.  Two trips covers the cost of the season past.
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

It cost $15.00 for an arm band to ride the funky little rides at the county fair.  I think the Six Flags price is more than fair.
