  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

In his own words.  Fed-ex and UPS are doing just fine.  It is the Post office that has problems..  Run by the government is why.  I beleive he is misrepresenting the bill and business owners will be forced to opt out to socialized medical care, forcing citizens to take it no matter what.  Just my take, read for yourself.

I think the US Postal service is dying because of... email... and to some extent... text messaging.  Hand written letters have become obsolete.  When was the last time you wrote a hand written letter as opposed to an email?

This is why they offer such a wide range of options now with sending packages through USPS.  They have to compete to stay alive because they cannot compete by selling stamps as they once did.

I was referring to the inept way the government has managed the USPS.  If the goverment can't run it efficiently, why should it be trusted with our healthcare?  Heck, why should it be trusted at all for that matter?

Try getting a ID card on the Fort.  I went in at 2:00 yesterday and walk ins were already closed for the day.  Went in early this morning and it only took 4 fricken hours..............

Bottom line, government is not in the business of turning a profit.  I personally believe we should turn damn near everything over to the private sector with strict oversight.  This oversight would ensure efficiency, compliance, and competitiveness.  If they fail to meet standards, give it to another private company.

If it is a VA Card, come see me.  It won't take you all day and that is a fact.

So big brother government will have to expand and run private companies.

Strict oversight would be the key words VDR, and we have had none of that in the medical world...I am not in favor of the current health coverage and I am not in favor of the proposed one...Somewhere there has to be an answer, and it must be in the middle ground.
I have it on good authority that the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about.

No I'm not talking about expanding government Winston.  What I do believe is that ALL government contracts need strict oversight.  It doesn't take an army of personnel to do this either.  The GAO "Government Accountability Office" is a fine example of professionals that do an outstanding job of uncovering waste, fraud, and abuse.  A team of career professionals like the GAO can save us millions if congress would only act when they receive their reports and recommendations.  The problem is, congress doesn't want to step on anyones toes that may have contributed to their campaigns.  Our former Comptroller General "David Walker" and his team literally uncovered BILLIONS of waste in the defense department and associated contracts.  What did congress do? Not much...................  The same could apply in all areas of government if congress would stand tall and quit worrying about their reelection campaigns.
