++ UPDATE! As of October 20th there have been at least 4 break-ins in close proximity to the Sunset Memorial Cemetary/Hilltop Motors area. Recently reports of the factory-custom "low-rider", white pickup (S-10 or Sonoma) indicate that electronics and over $10,000 in tools were stolen from two more residences. In three cases neighbors have spotted the vehical but failed to report until after the theft. We've got to be more vigilant, folks. If you spot a simular vehical near your home or at a neighbor's house that doesn't seem to belong there please call the sheriff right away! 774-6196. Thanks! ++

A home in the vicinity of Sunset Memorial Estates cemetary was broken into a few days ago. All that was stolen were prescription painkillers. A low-rider white truck was spotted in the area but cannot as yet be connected to the incident. Please make sure that your neighbors and relatives have alarm systems, security cameras or other safe-gaurds to prevent these or other crimes from continuing. It is also advised that neighbors be on the watch in their communities for suspicious vehicals and activities, most specifically in west-Waynesville, Buckhorn, south-17 and W-hwy. Any information should be reported to the Pulaski County Sheriff's department.

Also, beware of someone calling you at home claiming to be representing a local newspaper processing subscription renewals. These individuals will ask for personal information and financial information. Do NOT give it to them. Instead, hang up the phone IMMEDIATELY and call the newspaper at their yellowbook listed number to check back the information. Beware of in-calls. Do not give out information over the phone unless you have called into the business at their listed phone number.

Well, I hope they try breaking into my house, I want to see how well the Brinks alarm I have works while I am away, and how well Smith and Wesson works when i am home.  And they better not try and steal my Flinestone Vitamins.

I'm constantly having things happen down my road.  People acting suspiciously...drunk driving...etc.  Anytime anyone tries to report anything, we're always told no one has the time to come down here or told someone will be out and they never show up.  I have no doubt in my mind something is going to happen down here, and we're pretty much SOL.

My mother has also told me she saw a small white truck with two men in it driving by our houses very slowly; she said they looked like they were scoping the place out.  And my father also said it was an S10.

I personally would be more concerned that they're breaking into your house, period!  Make sure your windows are locked, you have deadbolts on your doors, and a security system wouldn't hurt either!  If you do as much as you can to keep them out of your house, you shouldn't need to worry about sticking your meds in a lockbox!  Just make sure you keep your meds out of sight... unless you invite people into your home whom you don't trust.  That poses another problem altogether.

You should be careful about who you are accusing of things.  That's how innocent people get in trouble for things they did not do.  There are several white S-10 low rider pickups in the area with logos in the back windows.  Make sure you have the right one before you go lynching someone.

If we can find out how they know about the prescription meds that will be half the problem of getting these crimes solved.

Turning in a license # isn't a conviction btw, it's just citizens doing our part to help the authoriities do theirs. You can't solve a crime without leads. Any suspicious vehical should be taken note of regardless of make or model.

Look also for a white dually , chevy, 80s model. Had one cruise up on the house last night and drove by really slow. As soon as I looked out the window they took off like a bat out of hell. Our neice lives in west waynesville and a house across the street from hers got robbed and they told her it was a large white deisel pickup that was seen there.Nobodies lynching anyone.....just making the people aware. You should feel good about it unless your the one stealing shit

Well in our small town you pretty much know older folks are on them and if you are sick like me the kids know it from your own kids or your friends kids, so they know you have some forms of prescriptions.

I know one family in town and she is on heavy script pain killers and the son was on them, giving them out, selling them and taking them himself!! Nothing has been done about it either!!
Thats when I was told to keep mine locked up or put up so kids couldnt take them without me knowing and it not get out that I had them. I have since stopped taking them all together except my scripts for the MS wich isnt pain killers so i dont worry anymore.

His mom doesn't believe anyone about her little baby either!
