  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

I've been hearing sirens all day around Buckhorn.  I wonder whats going on...

Could just be a state trooper camped out grabbing speeders.

Sort of curious though...

From what I have heard on the scanner apparently there was a shooting at my neighbors and they took the victim to Witmor Farms to meet emergency services.  I am sure the Sheriff will have a press release on this when he can.

Woah.. Is this just happening?
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift
Thats why they call it the present

Buckhorn shooter on the loose
BUCKHORN, Mo. (Oct. 13, 2009) — A shooter appears to be on the loose in the Buckhorn area near the old Witmore Farms restaurant. “At this point we don’t know what we’ve got,” said Sheriff J.B. King. “But we do advise everybody who has heard about the shooting to keep their eyes open and use common sense.” Based on victim reports, a woman came to Witmore Farms about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and said a man in the car with her had been shot in the leg by a person firing from an older model black vehicle, possibly a Dodge Dart. Emergency personnel attempted to call for a helicopter ambulance to airlift him for treatment but the rescue helicopters could not fly due to weather conditions; ground ambulance crews transported him to an unidentified hospital for treatment. As of 5 p.m., King said the vehicle has not been located despite an extensive manhunt by deputies and other law enforcement agencies. Click here to read more on Pulaski County Daily News ...

News Release
Shooting Incident
Pulaski County Sheriff J. B. King
Oct. 14, 2009

On Tuesday October 13, 2009, at approximately 3:49pm the Pulaski County 911 Center advised the Pulaski County Sheriff’s office that a subject had been shot at his residence on Roscoe Lane and was being taken to the Witmor Farms Restaurant parking lot by a private vehicle to meet a Pulaski County Ambulance unit. Deputies responded to the parking lot to speak with the victim.

The subject who had been shot was Tony Trotter Jr., age 50, of 25630 Roscoe, Waynesville, Missouri. Trotter told deputies that he had been shot by an unknown assailant at his residence. Trotter was taken by Pulaski County Ambulance to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

At this time deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s office are continuing the investigation. We have no reason to believe that this was a random act of violence. We believe that there is more to the incident then we have been told and Trotter was the specific target of the shooter.
