  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

My daughter was putting my grandchild in her car seat yesterday morning at Country mart in Dixon.  The wind caught the door and it tapped the car next to us.  It put a mark on the door that was no bigger than the  head of a pin.  The older lady in the car threw open her door and jumped all over my daughter,,,my daughter apologized and told her she was trying her best to keep the door from  hitting her car.  Nothing else was said ,,,,,as my daughter was walking around to get in her side of the car,,,,the woman gave me a dirty look and started looking at my car and writing things down.  As I backed out of my parking space she tried to get my license plate number.  I was  so angry I left instead of confronting her and possibly making matters worse.  I could understand if I had put a large scratch in her door or a bad dent.  It was only a small mark that one could rub out with a polishing rag and car wax.  The mark was from the rubber strip on my door ,,,,it did not chip her paint or leave paint from my car on hers.
I was not to worried about it at the time, but as I think about it should i have reported it myself.  I mean we have all tapped other cars with our doors.  What do you do when these tiny things happen,, %%$%$$#

Since you saw how agitated she was you probably would have been better off to call the police to come to the scene and see exactly what the damage was before she moved her car.  Might have been a new car for her and you know how we are about our new cars.  What was a small mark to you might have looked like a big dent to her.  Yep, should have called the police before she left.
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

I would have gotten a police report. A tiny scratch today might mean a big ol rust spot in a few months. Takes the value of the vehical down. I know this because I had a Lincoln a few years ago. Nice car. Some kid barely bumped me at the gas station below the theater in waynesville. I let him go without a police report or insurance exchange. 3 monthes later I had a 3X4 Inch piece of paint missing from the spot that "could have easily been buffed out" the paint shatters even if you cant see it. add moisture in the cracks and soon enough you have rust and paint missing. Im not saying you meant to do damage and maybe nothing will come of it. But you are still responsibe for the damage. JMHO ;D

I feel for you and your daughter. Yes, I agree that you are responsible for the damage but I haven't noticed anything that shows you are trying to deny this. I think if the woman was that worried about the damage to her car she could have handled it a little better. The wind caught the door, a total accident. It wasn't like your daughter was just carelessly throwing the door open with no consideration to the cars around her. It was nice that she tried to apologize. Now days it is rare to find anyone who will even show a sign of kindness to someone. I have seen people react completely opposite and spout off a loud string of obscenities and throw you the bird. Asking to exchange insurance information (politely) just in case it was needed or even as you suggested, have a police report made for insurance purposes would have been acceptable. Maybe the woman was having a bad day and was acting out of character. However, there could have been a lot more accomplished with a little kindness. I think we all have had similar incidents take place so don't be so hard on the girl.
You can tell a persons true worth by how they treat someone who can do nothing for them at all...
