  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

It's a big plot to expand the MJ business in Kalifornication... people can't get divorced so they'll be forced to get high to tolerate their spouse...  we could be witnessing the birth of utopia...
The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. Cicero - 55 BC, Rome

It will never pass.
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

If they couldn't approve gay marriage, which I assume is a minority, then they certainly won't have the votes to pass "no divorce."  My gosh that's 95% of California.  I should say Hollywood, I don't know what the rest of the state is like.

The gay marriage ban is the whole point of this guy wanting this passed.. He says..they say gay marriage is against religion, and so is divorce.. (Don't shot the messenger) teehee

Well then they need to read the Bible a little closer.  Divorce is allowed under certain circumstances, Matthew 19 (Message Bible) One day the Pharisees were badgering him: "Is is legal for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?"  He answered, "Haven't you read in your Bible that the Creator originally made man and woman for each other, male and female? And because of this, a man leaves father and mother and is firmly bonded to his wife, becoming one flesh-no longer two bodies but one."  Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart."  They shot back in rebuttal, "If that's so, why did Moses give instructions for divorce papers and divorce procedures?"  Jesus said, "moses provided for divorce as a concession to your hardheartedness, but it is not part of God's original plan. I'm holding you to the original plan, and holding you liable for adultery if you divorce your faithful wife and then marry someone else.  I make an exception in cases where the spouse has committed adultery."

I agree divorce should be harder to get.  I think they should do away with the Irreconcilable Differences.  That just means, I'm tired of trying to make this marriage work.  It is harder than I thought it would be.  He makes me mad.  Big deal, suck it up, and get on with your marriage.  AAA, adultery, abuse or alcohol/drugs should be the only reason to get a divorce.
