Dang, that just does not make sense to end your life. I knew something was wrong when he suddenly left Car Star, but did not think it was this bad.

R.I.P.,  so sorry for Nancy, and at Christmas.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her, and the rest of his family and friends.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

When someone commits the most personal act of suicide, it leaves those left behind with so many questions.  I've been personally touched by such acts, and though the questions are never really answered, I have thoughts that have helped me.

Though suicide is against the law, I personally feel a person has the right to decide when their life should end, or if they should fight to continue life.  One thing suicide does is prevent any "if's".  When a person has a life-threatening illness, a painful condition (mental or physical), financial hardship, a lost love, facing jail time, facing embarrassment, etc., some will consider suicide.  I can not say that the person is wrong for considering, or following through with such an act, for it truly is a very personal decision.  How they follow through with their decision may be seen as wrong, and can cause irreparable damage to others.  Yes, there are those, who commit suicide, that feel they need to "punish" another by their act.  There are those that feel the need just to have someone close by, not realizing the emotional/mental damage their act can cause.  Some have family or friends nearby, who were prepared for the act.

Once a person succeeds in committing suicide, there are no more tomorrows, and hence no "if's".  A life-threatening illness, what "if" tomorrow a cure is found, or what "if" the diagnosis was wrong?  A painful condition (mental or physical), what "if" tomorrow new medications are discovered that can ease or deaden the pain, or (if mental) what "if" tomorrow the right person comes along who can help with the mental pain.  Financial hardship, what "if" tomorrow you hit the lottery, get a fantastic job offer, are awarded a settlement, etc.  Lost love, what "if" tomorrow someone special enters your life.  Jail time, what "if" the sentence is reduced, what "if" you go and are allowed to better yourself through higher education, etc.  Suicide prevents all "if's", in all situations.

Now we come to the "if's" that can be most painful.  What "if" I knew that so and so was in such pain?  What "if" I had just talked to so and so.  What "if" I had just hugged so and so.  These and so many what "if's" are the ones that leave those behind, to question, and feel pain from.

We do not know, nor will we ever really know, what Seeg was feeling/thinking when he felt the time had come to end his life.  Though I didn't personally know him, I feel great pain that at some point, he felt that death was the only answer.  Through his writings, he shared himself with us.  He allowed us the honor of knowing an intelligent, well written, thought provoking young man, and he will be missed.  I sincerely hope that his thoughts on an afterlife are so, that he is at peace, and knows there are many that cared about him.

My heart breaks knowing what his family (girlfriend included as family) and close friends are going through, what they will continue to go through.  I can only wish that one day they find peace.

RIP Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.
"In order to be a leader of men, a man has to receive an education in his own country, among his own people, and to grow up in surroundings steeped with the traditions and psychology of his countrymen.  Not only did Western education not fulfill that condition, but it tended to wean a young man from the traditions and customs of his country."

That just seems unreal.  He just posted a thoughtful post on here yesterday, not what you would expect for someone who was depressed enough to a few hours later end his life.

I am very sad about this and confused.

RIP....family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

This is a hard time of year for lots of folks.  I have heard 3 suicides or attempts on the scanner this week alone.  With the holiday season everything piles on somebody that may be struggling with various personal issues.  Everyone needs to be aware of anybody that may be depressed or having problems and 'keep in touch' with them.

You all know him as Seeg on this message board. RIP my friend..

This is very unfortunate. I believe I heard this incident on the scanner as response was underway.

I've corresponded with Seeg a few times, but I did not know him very well and I know next to nothing about his situation, so I should not say much of anything regarding him other than that I sincerely wish his family well.

Speaking more generally about suicide, I do think the best response I've ever heard to suicide was from an Army colonel who liked to remind people that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I sincerely hope people who may read this and may consider similar acts in the future will remember that advice.

We will all miss John and will pray for his family. Nancy we love you and our thoughts and prayers are with you. I believe we have lost more than a good friend. We have lost a brother and a compassionate counselor. John and I visited about many things and I know he is in the kingdom of heaven. We will always have you in our hearts. Farewell old friend.
