  • nursejdavis: I am looking for a few Press Releases from Kevin Hillman that have disappeared.... not sure why they would be hidden from the public unless they contain narcs who have gotten their charges dropped for their cooperation. Seems the same Press Releases were also deleted from Facebook. Thanks for any help in locating these

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Waynesville, Mo. -
Pulaski County Collector Terri Mitchell says it’s a busy time of year for her office, especially in the last two days before 2010, as she gathers county tax payments from people.
“It’s been busy, it’s been steady,” Mitchell said Tuesday afternoon.
So far, 65 to 70 percent of 2009 payments have been collected and that number is expected to increase, according to Mitchell, as people scramble to make those payments on time.
“People may have to wait a little bit, but I think we’ve been pretty good about moving people through the line fast,” Mitchell said.
Payments can be made at the Pulaski County Collector’s office at the Pulaski County Courthouse, but there are other options as well. The Web site,, accepts payments online, with a credit or debit card or with an E-check, according to Mitchell.
Additionally, there is a telephone option (1-877-847-5977), which people can pay through credit card or E-check. There’s a 2.75 percent charge for using a credit card and a flat fee of $2.75 for an E-check payment option.
Mitchell said her office will accept payments postmarked before the new year with no penalty, but after that, there’s a 9 percent penalty incurred. She urged the public to pay their taxes before penalties are in effect.
“Each month after that, there’s an additional 2 percent,” she said.
For those with financial hardships, there will be a form available for people to fill out beginning Jan. 1, although it’s only for taxes on real estate, according to Mitchell. The state of Missouri determines eligibility on whether people may receive a property tax credit, which is based on disability and income.
The County Collector’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 30 and 31 for those wanting to pay in person.

Paid mine sucks and it's not fair to pay taxes on something you bought and paid taxes on that day PLUS pay gas tax to use it.  Personal property tax on your only mode of transportation is THEFT!  Everyone should be able to own one vehicle without being taxed on it.  Upward of that, RVs, boats, jet skis, etc. are a luxury and maybe that's different...but your car is your lifeline to work and just because you happen to be lucky enough to finally afford a nice one, the county has to put their fingers in a pie that isn't even theirs!!
....and that night as the moon crossed the mountain, one more Coyote was heard...
