  • nursejdavis: I am looking for a few Press Releases from Kevin Hillman that have disappeared.... not sure why they would be hidden from the public unless they contain narcs who have gotten their charges dropped for their cooperation. Seems the same Press Releases were also deleted from Facebook. Thanks for any help in locating these

  • Valor7: What I tried to say is that the actual money would not be there that quick. But a loan against that would work if they are willing to do that.

  • Lepard LLC: Why so long before it comes online? 911 took out a loan or bond with the known guarantee payment and began building..

  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: You mean that tax that the Commissioners would not put on the ballot for so many years? Strange things happened when the citizens got a chance to vote on that issue.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

  • Lepard LLC: Gene Newkirk Rick I have waited for a Sheriff to bring it to me on what he wanted. I have pushed Mr long for a while to get it to me. He told me he was close to having or done. Now hopefully the people will get to decide on it. I spoke with Steve about this a few times.

JASPER, Ark.-- Two men from the Mount Judea area face charges of conspiring to break out of jail and kidnap the Newton County sheriff's son. Now the sheriff is trying to locate a third person of interest.   The old jail house in Jasper looks like something from the Old West, and the plot surrounding the man who runs the jail sounds like a movie scene from a modern day thriller.  "Officers are used to being threatened, somehow, and I've had some threats, lots of threats made to me, but there's a line that you cross, and when they threaten a family, that line has been crossed," said Sheriff Keith Slape.  Three family members, known criminals he says, were trying to kidnap his only surviving child.  "I lost my daughter in 2008 in a car accident so, when I heard somebody planning harm or doing harm to my son, I had a parent's reaction," said Slape.  Slape says David Middleton was arrested for delivering meth, and the U.S. Marshals Service was keeping him as a federal inmate in the Benton County jail. Ever since, he says, Middleton has been plotting to get out with the help of his brother and niece.  "These are the three major players in it: David (Middleton), Rickie (Middleton) and Tracy (Waits)," he said.  The sheriff says the three had two plans. The first was to help David Middleton escape during his transport between jail and his court appearance. If that didn't work, the plan was to kidnap the sheriff's 17-year-old son and hold him as a ransom until David Middleton was let go.  "We've got to look at the house, find out where he goes, where his school bus goes, get him at whatever time and use these individuals to help you," is a piece of audio that deputies heard when they uncovered the scheme during a telephone tap.  The missing piece now is Tracy Waits, Middleton's niece. Waits is still on the loose, and the sheriff is begging for the public's help in finding her.  "I'd like anyone with information to please call the office at (870) 446-5124," said Slape.
