Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Has anybody heard what is going on with this.  When I went to a meeting, before they even voted for the sales tax, they said they would start construction in October and hoped to have it open by August 2010.  I don't see anything being done yet.  Looks like they are way off on their timeline.
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

I was at a special St. Robert Park Board meeting this afternoon at which they received numerous bids and accepted the third-lowest bid from Bales for $3,452,456. That bid is subject to final approval by the St. Robert City Council at their next meeting.

Last I heard was they were acepting bids about a month or more ago.

Sorry igahmah it took so long. Park committee was very good at going through all the plans. page by page, before senging it out for bid. Then the hollidays. We wanted the contractors to have plenty of time to bid. Also winter is a good time to get bids. Work is slow, and you can get better prices. Saved $ 350.000.00. We can use it to finish the main park parking lot.

So do they still plan on opening in August 2010?

We hope to have the indoor facility ready for next winter.  There was no way we could ever have the outdoor portion ready for next Spring.  The amount of design and prep work was amazing, but you should see some actual construction soon.  The contractor will be selected tonight at city council.

I think they plan on having the indoor facility ready by winter 2010 and the outdoor ready by spring 2011.

Correct, the outdoor pool will open in Spring 2011.  We could not have it ready for Summer 2010.  However, we hope to get the indoor part open for Winter 2010-2011.

Bales Construction in Waynesville was awarded the bid this evening so we should get a much better timeline soon.

No discussion on prices.  You would not believe how much work was involved in the design and bid process for this size project.  I am sure the park committee and the newly hired pool manager, whoever that is, will work on that in the future.  I am sure that it will be very reasonable.
